How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Being a fairly new motel it could do with a mini fridge and a screen dividing the toilet from the shower noted by our host.
A lovely fairly new family run motel in a quiet area of ha long with necessities close by.Ashleigh our host was able to speak very good english and helped immensly with travel and sightseeing.

They charge me almost 4 times to drop to my cruise location. Grab was showing 25000 vnd.but i thought to give them business for which they took 100000 Vnd. So regretting for that :)
Family taking care of motel are sweet. There fresh fruit juice & coffee are very good do try very good and very reasonable price. Hadn't have the opportunity to try food.

Absolutely everything!!!! The owners were some of the kindest, most accommodating people we’ve met. They went above and beyond to help us, not just with our booking but with local advice and support before we even arrived. We had a very late (middle of the night) check-in after an overnight bus, and they were so welcoming, flexible and patient. Their communication was exceptional. The location was perfect, just a short walk to where the Ha Long Bay cruises depart. Perfect if you're looking for someone to stay before or after a cruise. The room was spotless, spacious, and modern. It had everything we needed, was super comfortable, and we were honestly blown away by the quality for the price. Exceptional value for money.

The staff was amazing. We were so lucky that the daughter was back home for national holidays cause she speaks a perfect English and she could give us lots of advices and helped booking the night train. Even if her parents speak less English, they’ve been super cute and prepared delicious pho, noodles and breakfast. The home made yogurt with fresh fruit was incredible. We also used the laundry service and our clothes were fresh and clean the morning after. We also came back the day after just to have lunch and a fresh fruit juice since they were nice and kind. Super recommended

Stayed for few hours only as arrived from Ha Giang to Ha Long Bay at 4am. My cruise check in was 11am. Motel allowed for late check in and it’s situated about 5 min away from all the cruises. Great value for money.

There is nothing not to like about it.
During my past three weeks travelling in Vietnam I have stayed in many Hotels, some costing more, some costing less but the Sunrise Motel has been the standout. Everything about it is a 10 out of 10, including, and especially the hosts.

Super clean, friendly staff and perfect for what we needed. No negatives about the hotel at all, but there isn’t much on Tuan Chau apart from the cruise departures - which is what we went for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, this hotel is spotlessly clean, modern, quiet and close to all amenities. But what made it for us was the kind and generous nature of the hosts, who welcomed us like old friends. The food here is delicious, using many home grown ingredients straight out of their garden. The fruit and yoghurt for breakfast was a favourite. This place is a ten out of ten and it was very hard to leave. We hope to be back one day.

Local restaurants are quite expensive and not much variety, Halong town has more variety and easily accessible by Taxi or rental motorcycle/scooter
This stay was great and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay close to hub for Cat Ba island & Halong bay ferry. Wonderful friendly and helpful family willing to overcome any language barrier to assist in anyway possible

There are not very many options for restaurants in the area.
Stayed overnight before our cruise in Halong Bay. Comfortable, clean, and excellent value. The owners were very hospitable and catered to our needs while we were there.

Hotel close to the marina, very clean, everything new. Rooms very big. The owners are very nice retirees who are able to arrange cheaper trips on Ha Long Bay. Unfortunately, they do not speak English at all, but the owner is a master of Google Translate, so you can quickly communicate in any language (e.g. direct translation from Vietnamese to Polish). You can go sightseeing with the owner to the center of Ha Long (the attractions are scattered throughout, so it would be difficult to do it on your own), for the price of fuel. Delicious breakfasts, e.g. homemade yogurt with fruit, are second to none. Green tea (and others) are wonderful. Everything is excellent. It is really worth supporting this nice family.
