Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThat we only had one night there!
I think this is the most beautiful garden and homestay I've ever seen. Breakfast was delicious. A few cats and a couple dogs live there. Owners are lovely, will just need translate to communicate, otherwise their son speaks english very well! Fyi need to walk about 15min down to the markets on the edge of town to find food or take a short cab ride into town.

FranceIt's an exceptional spot at SAPA's entrance, away from the crowds. The owner cooks fresh food and accommodates vegetarian diets. Even if her English is very limited, her smile says a lot. Very good contact with his son who took care of our trip to SAPA (transfers and trekking). We will treasure the memory of this escape. Please

AustraliaProperty is 2k from Sa Pa centre set in a beautiful big private garden. In good weather there are lots of sitting options in different locations in the garden. Easy to get a taxi in to the centre. The family were very helpful and attentive. Nice big clean rooms with heating, cooling. Very happy with our stay. Thank you.

The grounds are very well landscaped and the hospitality shown by Nam Hong and his family was amazing. Our kids really enjoyed the dogs and cats that live on the property.

NetherlandsWhat to say… everything was incredible! The customer service: Mr. Nam is always responsive, he will help you organize everything you need and solve all your queries! We booked transfers, tours, tickets, everything done fast and seamlessly. The tours: we did 2 activities with the BnB. - We went up to Fansipan, to a gorgeous view. It is really worth it and if you are lucky with the weather, get ready for some breath taking views. - Trek in Sapa: this was the highlight of our trip. If you want to do some trekking and visit Hmong villages through gorgeous sceneries, don’t hesitate to book with this BnB! Mu, our guide, picked us up from the hotel and we did 6,5 h with her up the mountains. Mu was incredible, super good english, very knowledgeable and always smiling! Her laughter was contagious and she is so attentive, always helping us on the rough parts, taking amazing pictures of us, etc. Book it and you won’t regret it! The hotel: room was comfortable and spacious, impeccably clean and the garden was beautiful! Breakfast is very good, mr. Nam’s mom cooks like an angel! We also had dinner one of the nights and it was one of the best meals we had in Vietnam! Mr. Nam’s parents don’t speak much English, but they’re amazing and everything you need they will arrange. We also did laundry here and it was all done with great care. We loved our stay in Sa Pa and a lot due to this BnB :) thanks!

IrelandWe struggled to get the fire lit and would've liked a little more help from the owner to keep the room warm, but not a big deal.
The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were really lovely and cosy, and we enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings.

Homecooked breakfast was excellent with plenty of different choices. Location was great- far enough away from the busy town but close enough to get there when needed. Nam was very helpful at arranging any tours/transport from the property at very reasonable prices.

AustraliaWhat an amazing place! It’s about 2kms from town but we loved that about the place, it was so easy to get a Grab/taxi into town. We loved everything from the hosts Liên & Nam, who made sure our electric blankets were on and the fire was lit when we returned home from our day of exploring, the amazingly hot shower after a long day and the cooked breakfasts by Liên herself. The gardens are beautiful and the whole place has a beautiful relaxing vibe. The owner extended us an invitation to his private residence for coffee which was very unexpected but very appreciated. We stayed in a Family Suite which was enormous and well appointed. Do yourself a favour and book this place on your next trip to Sapa, you won’t be disappointed

NetherlandsI think $8 usd for wood per day to make a fire in your room is expensive. We paid for one day. Host offered us one night for free after having diner there. For winter time I would either ask more for the room or explicitly mention the cost for use of fireplace. As this is not mentioned at all now.
Comfortable room (including electric blanket for the bed), very clean, lovely family as hosts, very good breakfast and plenty of options to choose from. We had diner there one night and that was really tasty.

AustraliaProperty was too far out from town centre to walk due to being up hill and warm weather but that is something I'll be more mindful of next time, otherwise a lovely place to relax. Owners are Vietnamese so make sure you know how to use Google translate as only the son speaks English. No one to assist with carrying suitcases up 3 flights of stairs as we were 3 mature ladies.
The property was beautifully landscaped and the 2 bdrm family room was large, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The owners were friendly and very accommodating.

AustraliaDistance from the town not walkable but as Nam Hong happy to arrange taxis this is not too much of a problem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sapa Garden Bed and Breakfast. Very impressed by Nam Hong who was very kind helping us book and arrange transport for all our sightseeing in Sapa. He was like having a personal tour guide….advising us what was best to see and recommending best restaurants. His mother cooked an amazing dinner and tasty breakfasts and converted us into loving Vietnamese coffee. Also the gardens are so lovely to relax and enjoy. We would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Sapa.

IndiaNothing much to write about. Possibly the only piece of information is that it is about 2.5kms from the happening Sapa square, which by the way was also our preference.
Amazing place with beautiful garden, lots of open space amidst nature and wonderful hospitality. The owner, Mr.Nam and his mother are very warm people who attend to every need of yours. Mr.Nam goes the extra mile to guide you with your trip planning and visiting attractions, while making arrangements for your local transport. The rooms are really spacious, the breakfast is simple yet lovely (we are vegetarians) and the staff super helpful. We travelled with 2 kids aged 8 & 11 and they thoroughly enjoyed the place (and the cats) and just didn't want to leave. On the day of checkout, we infact cancelled our sightseeing to spend a lazy morning at the place itself! If you are considering a visit to Sapa and need some peace and quiet, choose this place without second thoughts !!

AustraliaLeaving. We were sad to leave.
The environment, ambience, friendliness and helpfulness. We were warmly welcomed and felt like part of the family but with so much flexibility and assistance for getting around Sapa and suggestions for activities. Nam has made a beautiful house and garden that is peaceful and calm. Breakfasts and dinner were delicious and authentic. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit with a balcony that had a fabulous view of the garden and mountains. If you are planning to visit Sa Pa I highly recommend Sapa Garden Bed and Breakfast.

AustraliaNam is a wonderful host who goes to great lengths to make your stay an enjoyable one. He is very helpful with local information, tours and making transport arrangements. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The fireplace that burns in the common area and dining room are a welcome treat to return to after a day out. A variety of breakfasts to choose from and Nam and staff are happy to cook you dinner. The gardens and surrounds are well tended to, and the orchids are a delight to view. A lot of care goes into providing a wonderful place to stay. I can highly recommend it.

United KingdomNam Hong will look after you and make sure your visit to sa pa is exactly right for you. He organises everything in an efficient and kind way that makes you want to stay much longer than you first intended! We would thoroughly recommend staying here. It is a 30 minute walk to the main restaurant area in sa pa but the b and b has a beautiful garden so it is nicer than being in town. They provide dinner for 10 dollars if you don't want to go out or he will order a taxi which is only 2 or 3 dollars or he will give you a lift if he is going out (which he often is as he is always busy!).
