How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No kettle. Though I am sure if I had asked....
The location was great, lots of food and drink options. It is just far enough for it not to be molested by too much noise pollution. The room was modest, but at its discounted price (47%) was fair. Would not have paid the full rack rate. Missing no kettle for hot drinks but did have a functional fridge. The bathroom was functional, there were no issues, and I had hot water on demand, i.e.had a hot shower at 10.40 pm Have to give a shout out to the staff, day receptionist was warm, cheerfull excellent English The night staff was very proactive, friendly, and just enough English to get by. Ps. In this area of 'Hems aka narrow Alleys', the hotel sits on a 4m road. So taxis are able to come directly to your door

The fact that they were doing major construction out the front. It was very noisy. But not the hotel’s fault. 😀

Hard bed (my opinion though) and didn’t look like the pictures, but fine, this happens a lot in Vietnam

The room was small, open shower with no tent, very small window, no view. All together it wasn't nice to spend time in the room
Good location, even though it is close to the chaotic walking street, the small street is quiet and full of restaurant and travel agencies

Room had one window leading out to the internal staircase. We arrived to find someone had thoughtfully placed their empty beer can inside said window on our desk. The room stank of cigarette smoke. Hot water was non existent.
Pretty good location and the front desk guy had a laugh with us about how slow the elevator was travelling only 1 floor.

The bed was so hard and you could feel the strings. Also the pillows were too hard and the blanket was too small for two. The bathroom was untidy.
Staff was very nice and helpful. An elevator is always nice when outside temperature is over 30 degrees. Room was small but just enough for us especially for that price.

The rooms need un upgrade. The bedding is very old and the beds are uncomfortable. The rooms are very small.
The Sao Nam Hotel is situated in a wonderful tourist area. The rooms are clean. You can literally walk everywhere. The hosts are very friendly!

Unfortunately, the toilet wasn't cleaned or at least not cleaned properly and the air conditioning smelled really strange and leaked a lot

No batteries in clock, ac remote, tv remote. Broken PowerPoints, malfunctioning safe, tv standby but wouldn’t turn on. Water in shower lukewarm at best. Advertised mini bar, was only an unplugged empty fridge.

The bed could be more comfy. Soundproofing between rooms was quite bad, I could clearly hear noises from the room next by.
The owners were lovely. The location of the hotel was great. The price was correct and all equipment worked well. No music heard from the main Bui Vien walking street.

The beds were really springy and uncomfortable. The AC gets flicked off by a main switch on reception as soon as you leave your room we had to ask for it to be turned back on which wasn’t ideal.
It was very close to most things around the centre. The family that own the hotel are lovely.

The smallest room we had in Vietnam, and it needs an upgrade and refurbishment. It'd be fine if we stayed 1 night, but 1+ nights and you end up having your belongings everywhere around you in a space of a few square feet. Toilet seat was very yellow. TV looked burnt or melted - we didn't try to turn it on. Cash payments only. No early check in available either. Staff speak limited English.
The only good thing is the location and price for it. Staff are kind but have limited English, so wouldn't be of great help. Despite being so close to Bui Vien street, our room (with a small window to the side of the building) was quiet throughout the night!
