How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A little noise from the nightlife, however we did have a room overlooking the street.
Close to restaurants and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Night market and sidewalk restaurant open up in street outside hotel.

The room had an unpleasant smell we couldn’t sleep the first night. However, they changed the room for us the next day. The breakfast was ok, not great. We only had breakfast 1 day. We didn’t look forward to breakfast the next day. The bathroom system was just weird for us.
Location was good, across the river from the night market. Staff was nice.

Not really a didn't like, but the pool is quite small but still 1.8m deep and provided a place for a refreshing dip. It's worth a mention in case you enjoy a large pool
Great location right near the action, but the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Our room (Rm 303) had everything we required and a nice balcony with a view of the river. There were night markets in the street each evening, which is where we dined 🍽 during our stay.

Great looking building. Location was perfect, close to ancient town. Breakfast was excellent with a nice dining area at the front overlooking the street front. The room was large with spacious bathroom & great balcony view. Staff were helpful with tour bookings.

Nothing. I thought it might be a bit noisy but honestly it was fine
The location right on the river across from the night markets and with a view of the lantern festival was fab. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Short walk into the shops and restaurants was perfect. The property itself was clean well maintained, beautiful little pool for a dip and onsite spa as well as breakfast included - the staff even packed us breakfast when we left at 5am to head to the airport - what more could you ask for!

The pool was unheated, small and a bit too public in the lobby, so the kids didn't end up using it.
The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the ancient town. The staff was great and helpful. The breakfast had great variety. Lovely that you have the option to sit inside or outside.

Lovely hotel & very helpful staff. Centrally located to everything in Hoi-an. It’s only a very short stroll to the old town, which is very vibrant and just across the river from some lovely bars/ restaurants, night market etc.

Shower was terrible, hot water took forever to come through. The breakfast was very basic compared to other hotels in Vietnam we have stayed at.
Location was great and Riverview was magic.

The location was lovely, right on the river and steps away from both the historic part of Hoi An and the night market. Breakfast was great - not extensive but with fresh-made crepes, served on the verandah facing the river.

Because it is close to the tourist area, it gets super noisy at night, we got night club music and karaoke all night. But not the hotel's fault.
Good team. Good breakfast good variety. I liked having a balconey with a view on the river and a bath tub. It is at a walking distance from most places in the ancient city. There are restaurants all around.
