Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe stairs are a pain, but if you don't mind that little extra effort the location makes up for it.
The room was clean and had enough space for us to be comfortable. AC worked great and the staff went above and beyond to help us with transport, tours etc. The location was right at the end of beer street but also somehow was quiet.

GermanyThe bathroom unfortunately had black mould in several places, which also left a slightly musty smell. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the fridge either as it was also infested with mould.
The location is great - super central yet quiet. The beds were comfortable and the staff very friendly. If you are reasonably physically fit, you won't mind that the hotel doesn't have a lift.

CanadaListing is a little deceiving to speak of a room with city view … I was on the 6th floor (no elevator 😳) .. the view was obstructed and over the bed. 6 flights of spiral staircase.. a challenge … Lots of noise from the street and other guests .. not soundproof ..
Location was excellent once you found the property ..tucked into the maze of the Old Quarter. Lovely staff .. sweet & accommodating. Good sized room. Nice hot water as the temperature was 🥶.

United KingdomHaving paid for a sky view room there were a couple of things which came as a surprise. Firstly no lift and our room being on the sixth floor was a bit of a trial when you arrive with luggage! There are I guess two sky rooms (there are two rooms on the top floor and every floor) but having been allocated 602 we couldn’t open the curtains as our window at the front looked straight out to the next building. It wasn’t worth the extra effort with the stairs or the additional money.
The location of the property was brilliant for the old town. I’d totally recommend this hotel for this and also for its beds. The mattress and bedding were so luxurious that you just felt enveloped. The staff were kind and friendly.

CanadaHotel is 6 floors (which I was on) and it’s no elevators. I had a 50lb, 16lb suitcase aswell a 20lb backpack as a single woman traveller. Thankfully reception was able to help me but with only one employee working there could have been a possibility for no help. Leaving to airport using their private vehicle should have been 45 minutes and it took 1h30 so driver could pull over and “pick up a package” he left me on side of highway in back seat at with all of the doors locked I has to crawl from the back to exit his passenger door. I was very scared as a young solo traveller I will never book with him or recommend anyone books with him. His information is Vu Minh Tu, 29F-048-97
Location was good and clean, staff friendly.

CanadaNo elevator! Take it into consideration if you happen to end up in a room on the 6th floor with a toddler, like we did.
Location is just off a little, cute street in the old quarter. The room was clean and suited well for the 4 of us.

GermanyIn the bathroom there was mold. Also if you have a lot of luggage the hotel has no elevator and two rooms on each of the 6 floors so this can be exhausting.

United KingdomThe first night we had to stay on the 5th floor with no lift! But we were able to move down the next day. Bathrooms were a bit run down, one room had very low water pressure, and in another room it looked like the bathroom ceiling is about to fall in. ( it didn't). No lounge area, only a small lobby at entrance.
Beautiful old colonial style building and rooms! In the center of town but quiet, amazingly helpful staff, with the rooms, exchange, information, booking activities and whatever! We came back!
