Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandShared bathroom got blocked as people were flushing TP so we couldnt use it for the night but there was another toilet downstairs to use.
This place was amazing. We ended up extending out stay. We stayed in both the cheaper room and the deluxe room. Both were equally as great. The free breakfast was awesome, with heaps to choose from. There was unlimited coffee and juice too. Dinner was also delicious.

BelgiumThe food is ok but not special, the pool is too cold (even in summer) and too many kids trying to sell stuff (although this is a general issue and not specific to the lodge) - which you shouldn’t support as it discourages them from pursuing an education
The staff (friendliness & good knowledge of English), the room (view & comfortable bed in deluxe rooms), remote and calm location

AustraliaThere was no fridge, the shower and toilet are on top of each other (the shower wets the toilet) and it was small. The food at the villa was a bit hit and miss and there wasn’t really a lot around to eat at other places. This is about 30minutes from sapa square which you need to consider as it is 300,000VND one way.
This spot is absolutely spectacular!!! The views were something I wish I could wake up to everyday. The service of the staff is great and they are super gentle, kind and caring. The room itself was, I think as good as it gets out in the villages in Sapa. it was beautiful, clean and provided a little ‘retreat’ like space, that was air conned, to come back to after exploring. It was fantastic waking up, opening the blinds and the view was right there.

AustraliaIncredible location for a quiet retreat. Absolutely stunning views. The rooms were clean with a great air conditioning. The staff were lovely and very helpful. 30minute drive from SAPA allowed for day trips, but also meant the villa was far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Kitchen was open all day which was very helpful. Also offered moped hire. The food was slightly average, but still plenty of options.

SpainWonderful place. Very attentive place. It is outside of Sapa, so be mindful about transportation. We rented a scooter from them and it was perfect. Super nice pool and views every morning. If you are not good with scooter be mindful, very steep and muddy roads around, especially in rainy season. For us was worth it!!

United KingdomThis isn’t anything against the accommodation and just our personal opinion but it’s very remote. It’s 30mins car drive away from Sapa centre and cars can’t actually get up the hill - the taxi left is 5 mins walk away.
The staff were super helpful, booked our taxi for us and helped us with questions. Views were amazing and the pool looked clean (although we didn’t use it). It’s quiet and away from the tourist hotspot in central Sapa. You can rent a scooter from the properly, which is recommended if you want to get around. You don’t even need to go on the village tours etc. because you’re right in the middle of all the nature

South AfricaThe view from the property is exceptional, the rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Our room came with air-conditioning which helped a lot in the Vietnamese summer. The hotel offers breakfast lunch and dinner, food was great.

United KingdomMy only niggle was the small toilet/shower room being integrated - makes the floor extremely wet and potentially dangerous. They do have a communal shower room, which I could have used instead, so not a major concern.
The staff are all very warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Offered us breakfast as we arrived early and settled us into our room quickly so we could instantly start exploring Sapa. The swimming pool was an added bonus as it overlooked rice fields, making you feel at one with the nature surrounding you.

RussiaI personally didn't like pho bo cause I've been to many places in Vietnam and know how a good one should taste :) The rest of the food was nice though.
The location is amazing: such a peaceful and beautiful area, the view from the rooms is awesome. The staff speaks good English, they are extremely helpful and sweet. The pool is big and clean, the rooms are very cozy. I extended my stay cause I couldn't get enough of this wonderful place!

BelgiumWe had a great stay at this hotel with an astonishing view of the rice fields. The staff was very friendly. They helped us organise a taxi to pick us up when our bus got delayed into the nightly hours, and a staff member checked us in. The rooms were clean, comfy beds. We regret that we did not do the hiking starting from this hotel as we thought that Sa Pa would be better, which wasn't.

United StatesLocation is about 30 minutes from Sapa town. If you’re looking to rest outside the hubbub of the city, this might be perfect, but a grab to the city is about 300k vnd so just keep that in mind as you plan :)
