Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Very comfortable and well equipped rooms in a beautiful quiet and rural location yet very close to town centre ( just get a grab for 10 mins). Whilst initially it seems a little in the sticks with very narrow roads, it is actually very easy to navigate. Hanh is a lovely, quiet lady with two delightful children. She was very helpful and friendly and breakfast was delicious. Also very cute geckos!!!

FranceNothing, everything was just perfect.
Everything is so modern, clean and well organized. Possibility to use services like ordering a yummy breakfast or laundry. The WiFi is working perfectly. The view is so astounding and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing being in the middle of the paddy fields that you can visit with the free bicycle provided at the paddy house.

NorwayIt's a bit far from the city center, but you can rent scooters or use the bicycles. Grab (Uber) works as well, but for getting a car it's best to walk to the next bigger street.
Hanh and her family were super nice! It's a really pretty place to stay, we used the bicycles to get to town and biked through rice fields. We also did the cooking class with Hanh and learned a lot. The house is typical Vietnamese I'd say in a cute neighborhood on the edge of the city, not far from the beach. The rooms are very clean and look like any standard hotel room you'd find in Europe for example.

AustraliaNo issues or negative side at all, 100% satisfied.
Great location with clean air 5 mins ride to the beach. Family were lovely and excellent English, organised great tours, but were also happy to leave us to ourselves. Quiet but very close to an excellent place to eat open most hours. Rooms were great, everything clean and up to date, good air conditioning. We borrowed bikes and scooters which was great.

SpainThe towels and the bed sheets were not changed every day and the bed was not made daily. It is 10 minutes away from the old town so we highly recommend you to rent a motorbike or a bike in the house.
The place is very nice surrounded by rice fields, it was very quiet. The room was clean and very cozy. The bed is very comfortable. We took a kitchen workshop and it was amazing. The breakfast was delicious and the owner was very nice and she arranged the taxis, the tour to the basket boat and we could rent a motorbike. The laundry service is available too.

AustraliaThere's nothing we didn't like!
We loved everything about Paddy House Homestay in Hoi An. We stayed for five nights and couldn't have chosen a better location. Surrounded by rice fields it was quiet, with a beautiful outlook from the verandah. It was well worth getting up early to see the sunrise! Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and our bed comfy. We made good use of the bicycles provided, riding to restaurants, to the beach, and into the city. Hahn was lovely, we really felt welcomed into the family home. She had lots of great local knowledge and we loved the breakfasts she cooked for us each morning. Thank you for a memorable stay. 😎

United KingdomThe bed was massive, I enjoyed the tv with Netflix at night and sitting on the balcony overlooking the green field was bliss. The family running the place were lovely and so helpful. I personally loved the location as I was looking for some peace and quiet and I could walk to some aesthetic cafe/restaurants nearby, walk or get a Grab (or bike) easily to the beach or even Hoi An Old Town. Also the shower temperature was consistent, with plenty of hot water and a great pressure which isn’t a given in Vietnam. The place was also very clean.

GermanyThe city is very much focused on making you spend as much money as possible. A glimpse of that is also felt in the way you receive recommendations.

AustraliaHanh's homestay is beautiful and she is the sweetest host. We had a peaceful 3 days with her and would definitely stay again. The view of the rice fields is beautiful and the balcony is airy all day long. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and great water pressure in the shower. We love the location, rice in the rice fields, between the beach and town. Breakfast was also delicious! The cooking and lantern making class was great. We used all the laundry services, scooter rentals as well as airport transfers which were very thoughtful and the prices were very reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will not forget.

United StatesStay at Paddy house place is perfect! It is just outside of town and surrounded by beautiful country but close enough so that it’s not inconvenient to get to the tourist locations. Ancient town & the beaches are both easy to get to by scooter, bike, even walking. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe’s nearby as well. Hanh’s family is also wonderful, you feel right at home. You can order breakfast or dinner at the Homestay (Hanh is a wonderful cook , and uses all fresh ingredients from the local market every morning so the prices are reasonable. We took the cooking class and lantern making class with her- it was fun and different, highly recommended), they have free bicycle to use and scooters to rent as well with price from 150.000- 200.000vnd per day . 10/10 we even extended our stay by a week! Next time we are in Hoi An we will definitely stay here again. ◡̈

United StatesStaying at the paddy house with Hanh as our host was incredible - would recommend over and over again to anyone visiting Hoi An. Hanh was super responsive and helped us arrange anything we wanted, without being pushy at all. Any tours, taxis, or rentals were through her trusted network, and with her assistance you could rest assured knowing you were getting a fair price with great guides or drivers. Her and her family and incredibly kind and friendly, and we really had such a nice time. The place is modern and clean and has everything you need from bikes, laundry, taxi pickup from the airport (highly recommend, so easy), and peaceful surroundings with incredible coffee/ food just around the corner. A perfect way to have an authentic and comfortable experience in Vietnam.
