Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenSome loud noise during the evening and very early in the morning on our last night. Otherwise it was perfect and we could rest very well to the calming sound of the water, and the view is beautiful!
So genuine and well maintained. I loved the traditionally built bungalows by the sea. All built with wood and straw for a perfect self ventilating climate indoors. It felt like we were on the water and actually we were during the night at high-tide, we were lucky to experience that for two nights. It was so grounding and relaxing. The whole atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting thanks to the lovely family that runs this place. They even drove us to our next location. This is a perfect getaway. We will be back, thank you so much for everything!

FranceI had a fabulous week staying with this lovely family! The bungalow was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The family was incredibly attentive and made me feel right at home. The location is a bit off the beaten path, around 45 minutes by scooter from the city center, but it’s calm and peaceful – perfect for recharging. One special highlight was spotting some monkeys on the road toward the center of the island – a rare and unforgettable experience! The family kindly provided me with a scooter, but they don’t always have enough available, so it’s worth checking in advance or renting one at the airport if needed. The local food they served was delicious, and I highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic, tranquil experience away from the hustle and bustle.

United KingdomNothing. But be aware it’s about 45 mins from airport (we hired a motorbike abs enjoyed being in a quiet area) and the bay is shallow so more for paddling than swimming unless you go out on the owners boat.
An amazing place to stay - like going back to the “original” Phu Quoc before development. The beachfront bungalow was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view, but the selling point was the amazing service and the food. It’s not like a resort hotel (so don’t book if that’s what you want), it’s staying with a lovely family in a rustic setting for a great price. Bonus: book the fishing and snorkelling trip which included the best meal of our trip.

United KingdomNo desk, only 1 staff spoke decent english, they tried to charge me for breakfast until I showed them my booking details. They then told me breakfast was a chocolate pastry, what a joke! There mistake, so no charge for my morning fried rice. Otherwise they tried hard to accommodate my requirements.
Good sized room, electric shower adequate. Good balcony view to East, comfortable bed.

LatviaNot that I didn’t like, just on that side of island is not possible to swim. But ~20min drive through the beautiful jungle (with monkeys) you can reach white sand beach.
Amazing place to take a break! So peaceful and quiet, amazing owners and great food. There is so good energy. Room was very comfortable, with big bed! Good wifi. Near the place are some small convenience stores, but all meals you can order at the guesthouse (fresh seafood) and it’s super delicious! If someday I will return to Phu Quoc- this will be the place to return!

United KingdomReally enjoyed the simplicity of this place, it was a breath of fresh air on Phu Quoc. Everyone who worked there were great, really chatty and helpful. Perfect quiet location to use as a base while exploring the island.

United StatesNo hot shower but pretty standard for homestays. And the small town it is in doesn't have much to offer so it's best to go there either to enjoy the low key atmosphere or as a base for exploring the Northside of Phu Quoc.
It was a good spot to use as a base on the Northeast part of the island as it isn't as developed as the South. It's a Homestay experience so you can have dining there as well. They also have boat tours and I even went net fishing with some Vietnamese guests which made the experience truly unique. If going I advise you have your own personal transportation from the Southern part of Phú Quốc. I however drove my motorcycle from Saigon.

NetherlandsI was really looking forward to step out of the touristic and busy stay for a bit and local beach provided that for me! What a hidden gem. Beautifull scenic place, the service was good and the food even more so. Loved every second of my stay here.

ItalyThe seafront location is very nice. I stayed six nights, every day I felt more and more bad vibes. The bungalow is made of straw and wood. Due to the way it is built, insects (ants, mosquitoes, geckos, etc.) can enter from anywhere, even from the floor (see photos 1). More than once I found feces in the bed that I think were gecko feces. The net placed on the bed to keep insects out while you sleep is not enough, insects will enter during the night. The bungalows do not all have the same insect netting (see photo 2). At Local Beach Phu Quoc there is only one sink to wash your teeth, your hands after going to the bathroom or your face in the morning. It does not work. There is no water and no drain pipe. Instead of a sink you can use a water pipe that comes out of the ground behind the bungalow (see photo 3); you will brush your teeth there and spit the toothpaste directly on the ground. If it rains there is no common place to eat indoors and the area in front of the bungalow floods (see photo 4). You will eat inside the bungalow and with the food even more insects will come inside the bungalow. I think these things should be written on booking in the bungalow description because for me it wasn't a problem, but for many other people it could be. For the reasons stated above I consider the asking price for the bungalow (350,000 Dong per night) too high for the service offered. If you intend to rent a scooter at "Local Beach Phu Quoc" please specify whether the rental price requested is for 24 hours from the time the rental begins as is customary in Vietnam (for example from 11am today to 11am tomorrow) or for today (for example from 11am today to 12pm today). In general, I recommend that you always explain everything clearly to avoid misunderstandings that are always "coincidentally" unfavorable to you economically.
