How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Omg it should be 5 star. Location and flower and her husband could not do enough for you. The room vas immaculate and beds comfy. Was spotless. I would go back there again.

Staff were great, so helpful with advice, bookings and even Bahn mi on arrival and departure, can’t do enough for you. The pool was beautiful. Great location, right amongst the shops, short stroll to the river.

Lion King is perfectly positioned just a couple of minutes walk from the northern fringe of Old Town. The room and hotel amenities are lovely, clean and very comfortable. The best part about staying at Lion King however is the wonderful customer service. Flower and her husband demonstrated some of the very best customer service my wife and me have experienced anywhere in the world (and we’ve travelled quite a lot). Both of them are exceptionally thoughtful, kind and helpful. Other staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful. We couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly.

This is such a great place to stay. It is very close to the old part (5 minute walk). The pool is an oasis during the heat. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Flower and her husband are very kind and give you lots of great information

The room was comfortable, light and clean. The towels where nice a soft. Mini bar had a nice selection of beverages at reasonable costs. The pool area was very pretty. The location was perfect; close to everywhere we wanted to walk. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Above all, Mrs Flower who runs the hotel was amazing! She had banh mi waiting for us on arrival, made excellent restaurant and shopping recommendations and arranged an excursion for a coconut boat ride with transportation. She was wonderful!

Everything! Flower and her lovely husband have designed every inch of this pretty hotel themselves. Rooms are immaculate, close walking distance to old town and pool area is lovely. We cannot recommend highly enough!

The most fantastic hotel in a great location. The owners could not have done any more to make us feel at home. The attention to detail and the overall service was superb. They went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The pool was a mini oasis in the middle of a vibrant town. Thank you for everything.

Nothing loved staying in a boutique locally run hotel.
The local owners Flower & Robert were great hosts and made all the difference to our stay. It's a family run business and they will go the extra mile to be as helpful as they can as a result. Flower's recommendations were 2nd to none and made such a difference, she nailed it every time from where to eat like a local to making us reservations at restaurants and recommendations for tailors and quality gift shopping. Flower is very proud of her town and property and it shines through in all she does.

This hotel was delightful: from the aesthetics, through to the warmth of the proprieters and staff. Flower and her husband went out of their way to make everyone staying there feel welcome and to provide individualised support and care; the rooms I stayed in were beautiful: the pool and lobby area are very cute; and the location is excellent with an easy three-minute stroll into the heart of old town and all the colour and night-life it has to offer. (An added bonus was the Moonmilk shop across the road where you can buy milks etc to cover a range of dietary requirements.) If I ever go back to Hoi An, I'd definitely stay at the Lion King again.

Very friendly staff. Hotel is owned by a couple. Flower was extremely helpful. Clean rooms and great location close to Oldtown. Easy to rent motorbike in the hotel

Beautiful, clean and cute family own property. It locates in the centre of everything. Ten minutes grab drive to a very clean beach in Hoi An. Robert and his wife are greatest host you can ever ask for. They accommodate their guests in every way they can. The little man at the door is cute always greeting us with a smile. Loved everything about the property
Loved absolutely everything about this hotel. Mr and Mrs Flower were so accomodating, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Welcomed us with a fresh banh mi. Assisted us with finding the best food, tours to do and transport to and from da nang. The hotel room was extremely clean, beautiful pool, quiet location but very central, short walking distance to everything. Loved everything about the hotel so decided to stay and extra night

I've never stayed anywhere with a more helpful couple looking after me. Could not recommend Lion King more for anyone wanting to stay in Hoi An. A bonus was the absolutely delicious banh mi on arrival and departure. I will be back

The hotel was cozy, clean, and very comfortable, but the true highlight of our stay was Robert. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was exceptionally warm, friendly, and accommodating, always ready to help with anything we needed. Robert assisted us with planning our sightseeing, gave fantastic restaurant recommendations, and even arranged taxis whenever we needed them. He thoughtfully ordered delicious Banh Mi for our entire family, which was such a memorable gesture. He also guided us on local shopping spots and shared useful tips to make the most of our time in the city. His personal attention and genuine care made our stay feel special and stress-free. Absolutely Exceptional – Best Stay of Our Trip! We had the most incredible experience staying here. The owners were truly amazing – they went above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. The customer service was hands down the best we’ve ever experienced. The location is perfect, especially if you’re wanting to explore the Old Town – everything is just a short walk away. I honestly can’t fault a single thing about our stay. It was the highlight of our holiday and we would 10000% stay here again. Highly recommend!

We were warmly greeted by Flower and were given recommendations of different local foods and restaurants to try in Hoii An, along with what's app links and pricing for local services We were each given a Bahn Mii which was delicious both on arrival and departure. Flower and her husband are just delightful people. The pool was great, and the accommodation was comfortable. The location was excellent.
