Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great clean Guesthouse with an awesome location right next to the river and beside the night markets. Hung and her husband that own the guest house was very helpful and eager to assist us with information and arrange trips and tours for us. If you pay by CC please note that there is a 3% service charge. We were perched on the 3rd floor and hence had views (limited) of the river.

MalaysiaIt does not have an elevator. Thankfully, the host helped with our bags to the 3rd floor when checking in. But at checkout I felt like throwing my bags down the stairs because I did quite a lot of shopping. :-Dq
It is a family run homestay. Not everyone can speak English but they try their hardest to help anyway. They arrange trip to My Son. The place is really clean. You have basic toiletries, fridge and kettle in the room. We have simple breakfast, bread, omelet and coffee. On the day of our trip to My Son they did not prepare breakfast for us, saying there's not enough time because it started at 7.30am. When we complained, they replaced it with a simple dinner of bread and fried eggs. If you want laundry done, they will arrange for.you at a small cost.

Huong was very helpful with suggestions, booking transport to the airport, and providing insight to Hội An. We were able to add another night easily. The location was great. A bit off the main road so it was quiet but easily walkable.

CanadaWifi was weak on the 4th floor but we were able to have a strong connection downstairs in the reception area to stream our football game.
Nice view of the river from our room on the 4th floor with balcony and chairs. The area was quiet at night for sleeping but close to everything to make easy walking access to everything in old town. Night market and restaurants are an easy walk. Room was very clean and air-conditioning worked well. A nice breakfast and all the family and staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very comfortable stay for 4 nights.

CanadaThe bathroom was a little small - so you'd want to move some of your toiletries out when having a shower so they didn't get wet.
Location is perfect, all the action and night market of Hoi An is steps away yet we found it totally quiet. Our room had a wonderful view of the river and nice little balcony perfect for coffee in the morning. Staff very friendly.

GermanyRoom-wise it was a good experience but with some severe service no-gos: 'Breakfast included' is wrong, as we were told when arriving. Due to the new year holidays, they don't offer breakfast. We asked for 'at least a coffee to start the day right' and receiving it, unfortunately it was so watered down that it tasted like sock water. When we extended our stay due to change of plans, the owner asked us to pay an extra fee on top of the room price, due to the holidays (which is normal in VN) but her argument was 'to pay the housekeepers who get additional money for the holidays, I won't see a penny of this'. So we paid more and eventually found out that there was no housekeeping at all during our extended stay - as the lady was on holidays - so the argument was a flat lie, which felt very nasty. Maybe outside of the holidays, they behave differently, but it left a mark on us.
Very clean, spacious and beautiful rooms just next to the night market - can be loud in the evenings, even though it's in a side alley.

AustraliaBreakfasts were appreciated however could have had more variety. Included an omelet, bread, and fresh fruit.
The location was even better than I expected. It's a nice quiet little street right near the river yet takes less than 30 seconds to walk to where all of the activities of the restaurants and night markets are. The bed was comfy and the room was nice and really spacious with aircon, kettle, fridge. I travelled with two other family members, we all had our own rooms on the river side. The room on the lower floor did not have views of the river however had a nice large terrace with lots of plants etc. The other two rooms had views of the river, one of which had a nice large balcony. The owners were very attentive to whatever needs we had and were only too happy to offer currency exchange, organise laundry, and help us with any information we needed to know.
