How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe booked the room only for a few hours to freshen up before the night bus. The location was right next to the bus stop so it was good for us. Hot shower and place to rest, very cheap.
The hotel is under construction so everything is very dusty, drilling sounds from the hallway. Location is next to the train station and you can hear the train very loudly in the room.

Verified reviewIt’s was opposite the Ninh Binh station so we used it to kill some time and have a shower before our long trip to Hue. The rooms are newly renovated. Staff had limited English.

Verified reviewWhile checking in we had the surprise that the hotel is currently closed for a restilying, so the receptionist brought us to another hotel just a few meters away. That room was ok, but would be nice to informe the guest in advance about that.

Verified reviewRoom was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient. Perfect for a night in Ninh Binh
Communication was a bit difficult with the host. We had told that we would arrive during the night, but they did not seem happy at all with us when we arrived. The next morning it seemed fine and they gave us some water bottles wich was nice

Verified reviewThe accommodation is simple but clean. Located directly opposite the train station and you can check in 24 hours a day. So rather a practical hotel if you arrive at night from the station. I would book again at any time. Very nice staff.

Verified reviewEvery staff member we met was extremely welcoming, helpful and very kind to us. On one occasion they helped with a very minor issue in our room, responding to and fixing the situation within a few minutes. Upon seeing us in the lobby on a few occasions, the friendly owner gave us bottled water and a dragonfruit. Our clean, bright room (#308) was a decent size, with a shared balcony with a locking door to the balcony. There were two chairs, a table and a locking wardrobe in the room. The aircon and fan worked perfectly. There was a flat screen tv and wi-fi in the room. The bed was very soft and comfortable and the sheets and duvet were clean and fresh. Room cleaning was offered daily. The bathroom was big and featured plenty of hot water. Towels were clean, absorbent and of a good size (we've had small, useless towels elsewhere in Vietnam). The free cooked-to-order breakfast was amazing! Guests can choose from an assortment of hot or cold breakfast options plus coffee and tea. There is also an on-site restaurant here although we didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel. The location is across the street from the Ninh Binh train station, so it's perfect for coming or going by train. Some luxury sleeper buses also stop across the street from the hotel. The area was very quiet except for a few train horns throughout the day and night. Overall, this is a very clean and extremely well-run hotel. The owners take great pride in their establishment and it clearly shows. Viet Nhat Hotel is an excellent value.
Our room door didn't open or close easily - it seemed a few rooms on our floor had this same issue as we could hear other guests struggling to open/close their doors. Having said this, our door still locked securely even though we had to force the door closed. Even though the wi-fi router was nearby in the hallway, the signal had trouble fully reaching each part of our room. We just had to be closer to the room door for the wi-fi to be 100% reliable.

Verified reviewhonestly it was best accommodation we had in vietnam. The staff were very helpful and friendly, without being pushy. In the structure you have all the services: money exchange, bus booking, scooter rental, excellent restaurant, all at an economical price. But above all, the staff was always ready to help without trying to sell you services and the vibes are very welcoming. The hotel itself is very clean and the food was very good. Very recommended

Verified reviewExcellent location to the train station and really good home cooked food. We only used the room for a few hours while waiting for a train but a great stay to refresh and/or recharge your batteries (personal or electronic).
Some parts of the room was a little outdated but for the price, it was expected.
