We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

VietnamA wonderful and memorable experience in Sapa. I feel very lucky to have chosen Hormone Farmstay for my trip to Sapa. Staying here felt just like being at home, from the lovely host to her friendly dog. The wooden house, simply decorated yet very unique, created a warm and familiar atmosphere. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced. I was truly fortunate to come during the rice season, which offered breathtaking scenery. My room had a direct view of the mountains and the beautiful terraced fields. The location is not too far from the center; it took me only about 30 minutes by taxi to reach the homestay. The host was also extremely kind and helpful in arranging transportation for me. Once again, thank you.

VietnamAn ideal place to relax. I was amazed by the two-storey wooden house and the scenery surrounded by terraced fields. This place is located in the middle of a Hmong village, about 10 km from Sapa town. Although it is a bit far from the center, the host was very friendly and helped me arrange a taxi to pick me up at midnight. The host was always smiling, very kind, and even cooked delicious meals for me. Although I did not have much time to stay here, I think this is one of the places I loved the most. I also booked a hiking trip of about 4 hours, and I was very lucky because the host herself guided me and four other people in the same group. We had a wonderful time. I believe this is the right place for anyone who wants to experience peace and simplicity in the countryside, as well as relax after busy and noisy days in big cities. Highly recommended. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family, and I will come back in the near future.

VietnamWow, it was truly wonderful. This is probably the place I liked the most. From the wooden house, the quiet location, the room decoration, each bed, and even the essential items prepared in the room… everything was perfect. I only stayed for one night, but I’m so glad I chose this place—away from the town of Sa Pa. I spent half a day hiking with Chu and her dog Chill. Everything was amazing and worthwhile; the hike allowed me to see details of local life and understand their culture. I think I was lucky to come during this season, when the rice turns golden and the scenery is breathtaking. Thank you, Chu, for your warm hospitality and for cooking such delicious meals. I will definitely recommend this place to other travelers and return in the future.

IndiaCalm, beautiful, peaceful place. Amazing place and incredible village and humble host.
Staying at the Hmong Farmstay was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Vietnam. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking—waking up to the mist rolling over the rice terraces felt like something out of a dream. But what made the experience unforgettable was the warmth of the local Hmong hosts. They shared their stories, their food, and their traditions with so much pride and kindness. I learned how to dye fabric with indigo and even helped with planting rice. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place that offers an authentic look into local life. Highly recommended for anyone looking to go beyond the typical tourist trail." A Big thanks to Chu, who is an amazing person and the Best Chef. Appreciate it. Best of Luck.

IrelandThe only drawback is the distance from the main town but I knew this when booking. A taxi is 200k one way
I had a fantastic time staying at Hmong Farmstay. Very cute homestay in the middle of Mường Hoa Valley. The views from the patio were absolutely fantastic with gorgeous sunsets. The food is also top quality. The owner really goes out of her way to make you feel so so welcome. Will definitely visit again when I’m in Sapa

Her hospitality is beyond and the location of the home stay is so peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious, the Wi-Fi was strong, the water was hot and most importantly the food was delicious and affordable. Thanks so much for having us Chu, we hope we can come back again one day!

GermanyA Home Away From Home – Thanks to Chu! Staying at Chu’s farmstay near Sa pa was truly one of the most heartwarming experiences of my travels so far. From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcome. Chu’s kindness radiates in everything she does - from the way she prepares meals with love, to the small thoughtful touches throughout the home that make you feel instantly comfortable. The meals she prepared were all really delicious. The house itself is peaceful, beautifully kept and filled with that unmistakable sense of warmth that only comes from a place that is deeply lived in and loved. But it’s Chu who makes it unforgettable. She welcomes you with open arms and a gentle spirit that’s hard to describe but impossible to forget. Her stories, laughter, and generosity create a connection so genuine that leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. 🥹 If you’re looking for more than just a place to stay - if you want a true cultural experience wrapped in kindness, comfort, and unforgettable hospitality - this is it. I arrived as a traveler, but thanks to Chu and her little puppy, I left with a full heart and a new friend in Vietnam. I will sure recommend this place to other travelers and friends at home looking to visit the North of Vietnam. ❤️🔥

FranceFar away from the Sa Pa agitation, you can find this peaceful homestay, all made of wood. Everything was perfect, it is clean, calm and you are in the middle of Hmong village. The best is the owner Chou, she is so nice and caring. She cooks for you when you want to eat, lots of vegetarian options. You also have a good hiking option in a mountain next to her place. It is a new homestay so don't hesitate to support her, she is sincerely kind. Thank you very much Chou, it was a pleasure to meet you, bye bye !

Her english is excellent and she made sure we were very well taken care of. The homestay has a wide variety of delicious food to choose from as well! The homestay is very clean and definitely exceeded our expectations! We booked our trekking tour through Chu as well which was very good. If we are ever back in Sa Pa we will be back here for sure!

The facility is new, clean, and surrounded by nature - located about half an hour from Sapa city; although the guesthouse has recently opened, it has all the amenities and, most importantly, the owner Chu will make sure to make your stay wonderful! She was always very kind to me: first, she let me sleep in a room higher than the one I had booked as it was free of guests, and then she helped me booking trekking and transfers to and from Sapa. The first night also we cooked and ate some typical dishes together (simple but very tasty cuisine). Highly recommended!

I arrived here on an early spring day, so the weather changed incredibly fast. I found this place on Booking, and it seemed quite newly opened, but everything was perfect. It’s an amazing choice for anyone who loves staying away from the city center, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and experiencing the local lifestyle. The house itself is so calm and serene, surrounded by mountains and rice fields. In the early morning, you wake up to a stunning view of the mountains right in front of you. The sound of birds singing adds to the peaceful vibe. We arrived quite late at night, but the host, Chu, was so welcoming. She even offered to cook us dinner despite the late hour. On top of that, we were upgraded to a better room since we were among the very first guests at the homestay. I really fell in love with the room, the scenery, the people, and especially Chu. Even though she’s young, she’s incredibly helpful and thoughtful. We will definitely come back soon to enjoy a home-cooked meal with Chu and heẻ family. Once again thank you Chu.❤️❤️❤️

VietnamThe homestay is beautiful and cozy, with a view overlooking the mountains and fields. In front, there's a small garden with blooming peach and plum trees. I really regret not being able to stay longer. The host is friendly, especially Chu. He's young but a very capable homestay manager and provides enthusiastic advice and support during my stay. I learned a lot about the local culture and history. If I have the chance, I'll definitely come back to stay longer and visit Chu again.
