I am very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience about our breakfast during your stay here. I just would love to explain you that we are here a small villa with a local room rate- but we still provide a nice breakfast ( eggs, breads, noodles, rice, drinks and fruits,..) to our guests here. I think it’s enough to start a day. If not, we have a staff there, just feel free to request her. Btw we would like to take this opportunity to wish you have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year! Dear Mikel, Thank you so much for staying with us and I am sorry that you obviously did not enjoy your stay. The first thing that I would like to point out is that ours is a small hotel, which you could probably have gathered before you booked. This means that we do not have an elevator, which is also evident on the sales page from which you booked. I would suggest that you are more careful with your research before you book in the future. Most small hotels in Hoi An do not have an elevator. With regards to your room being hot, one thing you failed to mention or take into account in your review is that you were upgraded for free from superior to deluxe room, and although it is surely hot in Hoi An right now, every room comes with AC as standard. If your AC was not working properly you should have contacted staff and they could have had it fixed for you. Complaining that your room is hot after you have left is not helpful to anyone. I am sorry that the bathroom door did not close and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will get that looked into immediately. Thank you. As I mentioned earlier, ours is a small hotel and so this means that we do not have the large number of staff that many bigger hotels have. This sometimes leads to staff not being available at reception if they are dealing with other guests or other issues within the hotel. I apologise if staff were not present at times when you wanted them to be, but I assure you, staff are usually present at reception as expected. As to the breakfast, our small staff work hard to make a breakfast for everyone, but I understand that the choice is limited. We are working on updating the breakfast options and hopefully we will be providing a better breakfast option soon. Overall, although I understand your complaints and recognise the issues you had, I think a score of 4 is massively unfair. Considering you got upgraded for free and some of your complaints could have been avoided with more careful research or talking to staff, I think a 4 is not really commensurate with the issues you had and is wholly unfair to any business. Dear Sheila, Thank you for staying with us, and thank you for your review. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the breakfast. We are a small hotel and so are unable to offer the wide selection of breakfast choices that other, larger and more expensive, hotels might be able to offer. We try to offer a choice, as you said in your review, and I think most people are happy with what we offer included in the price. It is also interesting that you said that all our choices were Vietnamese and then clearly state that you chose scrambled eggs for breakfast. I didn't realise that scrambled eggs was a Vietnamese invention. But even if it were, the hotel is in Vietnam after all. I am also very surprised that you think the price is expensive. I understand that the breakfast is not a gourmet buffet, but for $15 USD per night for a hotel with AC, pool, and breakfast that is within walking distance of the popular tourist destination of Old Town Hoi An, I am not sure how much you were hoping to pay or what you were expecting. I also feel that giving a 6/10 review score simply because you were bored of the breakfast over two days, when you plainly said that everything else was good, is a bit disappointing.
