Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeNot that I don't like but good to have a mosquito repellent. They have mosquito net around the bed and it helps a lot. Other than this, it's a wonderful stay and experience.
I loveee everything. The hosts are so nice and very accommodating. The food is soo goood. The coffee is good. The place is great, our view is the rice fields. There's no aircon but the weather is cooling and windy. You can walk around the neighborhood and its so pretty also.

United KingdomAbsolutely beautiful setting - the views from the lodge are unmatched. The family running the homestay are very warm and kind, and the breakfast pho was one of the best we have had in all of Vietnam! Ta Van itself is a lovely village and we’re so glad we stayed here rather than Sapa. We did the day trek organised by the homestay with lovely guide Mimi and it was amazing!

AustraliaTook the long way round to the accom as our driver dropped us past the small sign showing the way. Nothing family can do but karaoke blasting though the night and construction workers with loud music the next day. Not much English. Crepes I ordered were barely cooked and were stone cold. I didn't eat much as it tasted like raw batter. Also I asked for honey but was banana. I ordered tea with breakfast but was given Vietnamese coffee. When I asked for tea she smiled and nodded but it never came. Made one in the room. Other guests got complimentary watermelon after dinner, but not us, don't know why. The area is very developed for tourists
cute bungalow, amazing view, places to eat a short walk away

MoroccoThat we had to leave!
We loved absolutely everything! Thuy and his wife are amazing! They are the kindest and they get out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable! Thuy welcome us with the best cinnamon tea we have ever tasted and we had a very nice chat! The bungalows are Fantastic in the middle of nature with stunning views! Everything is perfectly clean, the bed is very comfortable with a great mosquito net, toiletries and towels are provided, hot water works very well, there is a clothes hanger and slippers aswell! Drinking water and a kettle are available! Breakfast is good with many choices and there is a menu for lunch and dinner aswell! Thuy helped us with everything from taxis from/to Sapa town to cable car tour and he was always reachable in case we needed anything! We had a wonderful stay and we highly recommend Eco Hills Homestay!

United StatesThe chicken wake yah up real early, but it’s like that everywhere once you get out of the city so just a heads up!
The couple running the home stay were the best! They went over the top to make us feel like we were right at home! They set us up with Mimi for a trekking tour (she’s the best, ask for her) and then we did a cooking class which was so fun! We had an early bus in the morning and they even made us bfast to go, so so kind! If I ever come back to SaPa I will be staying here - views were incredible and everyone was so wonderful.

RomaniaAt forst they gave us a different room than the one we booked, but once we told them and insisted a bit, they agreed to change our room. On our first night we had hot water, but on the second one, only cold water.
We've stayed here for 2 nights. The view from out house was amazing. The room was very clean, which is hard to come by in Vietnam. I recommend taking the trekking trip they offer, even though it's pricy, because we had a great time and the dinner after (which is included in the price) was delicious.

CanadaThere was loud karaoke in the valley on all the nights we were there, but good earplugs did the trick.
Incredible family who did so much to make our stay really comfortable and special. We enjoyed the cooking class with Thuy especially.

BelgiumI stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The staff is super super friendly and helpful. They helped with organizing a trekking (which was amazing) and booked a bus for me for cheaper than the online price. I also arrived in Sapa at midnight and they still arranged transport to the accomodation en let me check in in the middle of the night. The dorm rooms are decent especially considering the price

United StatesCan't think of too much here. Perhaps better signage at the bottom of the hill.
Special place! The rooms are cozy as all get out, so don't think twice about the weather. The heated mattress is luxurious. But the real start of the show is Thuy and his family. These folks come right from the heart, and want to do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as can be. They set up a trek for me with a fantastic guide, cooked delicious food, and took care of any needs that came up. The setting is wondrous (although I could rarely see it through the heavy fog). All in all, a place that I will remember for a long time.

SingaporeThe steep incline you need to climb before reaching the guesthouse was challenging for my parents who are in their 70s. But do-able for most fitness levels.
Tranquil hideaway. Hosts Thuy and his wife were warm, hospitable and accommodating. They arranged our transport, trekking tour and meals. Lovely family to stay with.
