Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lovely lovely Homestay! Great location, super close to the night market but not noisy at all. I was in the room beside the breakfast area and was never bothered by noise. Just as advertised on booking.com, simple accommodation. The highlight were the staff - so so lovely and accommodating and couldn't do more to help. Even waited up until 11pm to let me in when I arrived and organised all airport taxis. Breakfast was a delicious banh mí. Would stay again!

the only complaint we have are the beds, they weren’t really mattresses more like hard mats that had been put on top of eachother & the wifi wasn’t great
the lady is so lovely and very friendly, she welcomed us every morning with a smile & she offered a laundry service too which was really convenient. the location is great, not even a two minute walk to the night market and the bridge where all the lantern boats are - it’s beautiful at night & far enough away from all the hustle and bustle so it’s not loud at night. the rooms were huge and offered quite a few amenities.

My stay here was fantastic. The hosts made me feel so welcome and were constantly available if there were any issues. When I arrived I was upgraded to a better room free of charge and my bag broke and the lady helped me to fix it. The location was fantastic and the room was spacious and clean. Excellent value for money, I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Slight drainage smell in room. Beds a bit on the hard side but this is personal preference
Perfect location, night market was right at the end of our street but was far away enough to hear no noise. 5 minute walk into the main old town. Rooms were clean, we even got upgraded for free! Staff couldn’t do enough for us, thank you so much!

Could do with a mop or squeegee to do the bathroom after someone has showered so the floor doesn’t stay wet.
The staff and owner are really lovely and friendly. We got a free upgrade to a family room which was wonderful. The location is great, right next to a night market but the room is quiet.

One of the most heart warming experience since I am travelling this part of the world. I arrived very very early in the morning after 12 hours in a bus, the Lady that manages the place offered a super early check-in to allow for me to get a shower and rest a bit. She continued spoiling me during complementary breakfast in the next days, helping with transport for the next destinations, and even making sure that I was back in the evening without problems. She replies in real time to any question that you might have, and she really makes a huge effort to speak English and/or to use the translator properly. The room was clean, everything worked and the position of the place is 5 minutes walking from the main center of activities but in a quiet area (for Vietnam), where you also have several places where to eat and a laundry. All in all, I have had a great experience and that I suggest to everyone but in particular solo traveller that might need to have some positive human interaction with locals.
