We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaThere is so much to say about this Homestay experience it’s hard to write this review! I am so grateful to have met Bikki and spend time with her and her family. I learnt so much not only about tea but all the plants and fruit in the jungle surrounding the homestay. It’s amazing what you can find and use in cooking. Bikki cooked some delicious healthy meals and we did some cooking together. This I’ll remember forever! There was also a very important ceremony happening it the village that Bikki involved us in, which was very special to be a part of but also witness, and learn about the community. Not to mention, it is the most beautiful place you will ever go, I could not believe the sights of the bright green rice fields, the trees and the jungle, and the waterfall right next to the homestay to go swimming. I definitely definitely recommend this homestay

FranceI had an incredible stay with Bikki and her family. The surroundings are sublime, with hikes, waterfalls, tea plantations and production, farming and local people. Bikki is a very inspiring person, always available to answer questions, help and teach us more about the region and her community. Meals are shared as a family and are made with local produce, often even from the garden. In short, everything is perfect! I hope to return very soon!

United KingdomGoogle maps won't take you to the property so it's best to ask bikki for directions
Bikki is extremely friendly. I arrived late and she offered to make food. The dorm is large and beds are separated by curtains and have a mosquito net. Bikki was not feeling well the next day but still made tea and coffee and offered to make food. Unfortunately I could only stay for one night but if I return then I will stay for a lot longer

PortugalBikki has a Lot of knowlege to share and can explain in good english the medicinal and edible plants, how to process them, explain Traditions, teach about her culture. With Humor and kindness she showed us beautyful waterfalls and magic places, and she and her Family prepare amazing meals that are fresh organic from their own gardens and animals and the jungle. We sleep good with the Sound of the River and listen to singing birds in the morning. Great thanks for everyday we could spend Here!

IndiaThere are no private rooms here but only curtained compartments in a giant room turned dorm. However, the setup is very cosy and one hardly feels the presence of other guests. Each bed comes with a window opening up to the river and mountain outside. It’s perfect :)

ItalyOne of the best experiences we've ever had while traveling! We're still trying to find the right words to describe our time with Bikki and her family. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed into a truly authentic culture, surrounded by love and kindness. Every single moment was precious and important, and we met some incredible people who we hope will remain in our lives forever. This experience was both meaningful (deeply discovering a rare nature-based community), breathtaking (trekking through the jungle), and surprising (visiting a tea master). If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, take a ride and head to Bikki's homestay—you won't regret it!

Everything! Bikki is a very kind and friendly host, she definitely enjoys welcoming people and showing them her traditions and she knows a lot of things! The food is delicious, the best we had in Vietnam (her mum is an amazing chef). Tea house visit is super recommended. N.B. This is not a hotel but an incredible experience with Bikki in the middle of the jungle.

AustraliaA beautiful location surrounded by the mountains and waterfalls. Wake-up to the sound of water trickling down streams and chickens clucking away. Bick is the most exceptional host who will welcome you into her family, ensuring you feel comfortable and enjoy your time. Staying at Bikki Jungle Homestay will allow a window into the lives of the Red Dzao Tribe of the Northern mountains of Vietnam. Bick and her family welcomed us with hospitality and kindness, showing us their unique way of life including cooking, tasting valuable teas, and swimming in waterfalls. We trekked through the jungle, ate delicious food, and learned some phrases in the specific dialect of Vietnamese. Thank you Bick for being the wonderful person you are, and ensuring all your guests have a great time! ☺️ *important note on directions* - if arriving at Bikki Jungle Homestay by yourself, make sure you turn LEFT at the sign that says “welcome to Lung Tao Village” (pictured). Google maps will tell you to take the right path over the bridge, but this is incorrect. Take the left path and follow the road until you arrive at Bick’s home!

United KingdomIdk that I had to leave and go back to work. During our stay they got reliable, fast internet installed, so that wasn't an issue.
The host, bích, is an amazing woman. She is so kind and clever. She answers every question you have about the area and the dao / yao people (the main cultural/ethnic group there). She constantly adapts the food and the optional free day trips around the area to what people staying there want to experience. For me, she helped me improve my vietnamese a lot. The rest of the family there were also amazing and so cute. The stay was a peaceful retreat and there were lots of optional adventures and experiences, all for free. The food is mostly using ingredients the family grows, and the family grows a billion different ingredients from watermelons to ginger to the biggest cucumbers ive ever seen. I think its worth £40 a night, not £6 a night. Optional meals are very cheap, only 40k, and delicious. Its a real homestay where you genuinely become part of the family. Theres a reall good waterfall near the house with clean water you can swim and dive in. They have lifejackets you can use if your not a confident swimmer. We went to explore their farm pand they grow their own food from, in the rice terraces. We had a ln evening camping by an even more dramatic waterfall. We went to a lovely local market together (only on thursday). We tried different teas and each one had a story. They provide a service where they can pick you up from ha giang city if you dont want to drive there. It is by far the my favourite homestay I have ever stayed at.

ThailandFinding the homestay was a bit challenging. Its location is actually properly marked on Google Maps, but at the time I visited the directions brought me to a different place across the river and then said I had to walk just 30 meters after parking my bike. If you have the same problem, just look across the river and try to find the building most prominently featured in the photos here. There are three roofs that touch--green, black, and red. This is the property you want to find, and the road does reach there.
I was welcomed warmly by Bick and her family, and everything about this homestay exceeded my expectations. The setting is idyllic, situated low on the mountainside and just a five-minute walk to the river in the valley, where you can swim in (small) waterfall pools, which I did each day I was there. Views from the bedrooms and dining area are excellent. The food is delicious. Bick is an engaging host, who is eager to show her guests around. She swam in the river with me and invited me to pick tea leaves one morning with her and her mother. Later that evening, we roasted the tea leaves together. She knows a lot about the tea-making process, and also offers trekking tours of the area which I did not partake in but would like to try in the future. I've stayed at more than a dozen homestays in northern Vietnam, and have had several good experiences. This was among the best. Not that it's necessary, but it's also worth mentioning that Bick can communicate fairly well in English and is eager to practice with guess and improve her English-speaking skills. I will surely return to Bick's Homestay the next time I visit Vietnam. I booked for one night and extended my stay. I would've loved to stay for even longer. Thank you for your warmth and generosity in sharing your home and customs with me, Bick. Until we meet again, I wish you all the best!

GermanyI loved the authenticity and peacefulness of the place. The homestay is in the middle of the mountains. Only 300m away there is a river with waterfalls where you can swim. Around the homestay you can see chicken and ducks and fish. There is a lot to learn and to discover. You can learn about the tea process, learn how to make traditional meals, become part of the red dzao tribal life, eat together with the family, explore the area, see ancient tea trees in the jungle and learn about the culture. The homestay also offers different tours, like the Ha Giang loop or guided trekking. I will not forget waking up to the sound of birds and drinking the most amazing tea. I will miss the family and I hope I can return to this place one day.

If authenticity is more important to you than luxury then Bikky Jungle Homestay will be the perfect place. Bic organised our pick up at 3am! The sleeping area is comfortable and clean. There is a shower with hot water. The food prepared by the whole family on the fire is simply delicious. The views around are beautiful. We spent 3 amazing days there ( wish we could have stayed longer). These were the most beautiful moments during our Vietnam trip - real and magical. Bic took us into the bamboo jungle in search of food, showed us what her family's daily life is like. We tasted delicious tea and gained interesting knowledge about medicinal plants. We are grateful for this wonderful time. For seekers of authenticity, this will be the perfect place.

United StatesWe had very little time left in Vietnam and could not stay with Bikki as long as we wanted! Other than this, no complaints at all from either of us. Bikki is a great host and will take care of you!
The location of the homestay is pristine, on the mountainside with relaxing sounds of flowing waterfalls and rivers. Views of traditional terraces covered the landscape to give the foreign guest a feel for the jungle and farming lifestyle that Bikki and her family possess. The Vietnamese cuisine that the family cooks is tasty and delicious. Plus, we were really happy that they did not mind us helping out and learning to make the dishes ourselves. The family also made sure that we, as guests, got to try every food that they love- for us, it was the sticky rice in leaf & an amazing jackfruit purchased from the market earlier that day. However great the food and location was, nothing beats the experience of an authentic Vietnamese homestay that Bikki and her family provide. We were very happy to feel immediately welcomed and immersed into the way of life, having the chance to hunt for bamboo shoots and pick tea leaves. I learned a great amount about tea from Bikki & her siblings, as they mainly pick and process the good for sell. We were looking for an authentic insight into the Vietnamese way of life with great place to stay on the incredible mountainside along with good traditional foods and a very welcoming family- Bikki Jungle Homestay gave us exactly that. We will be returning with more friends and family in the future.
