Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandRestaurant very average. Breakfast ok - not at all bad but not memorable. 500 m to town could be a niggle but we enjoyed the stretch of legs.
Very welcoming staff. Room was comfortable and spacious with nice balcony overlooking the Muong Hoa valley to Fansipan. Has the 90s vibe to it if that's your thing.

AustraliaIt was outstanding - no faults
A beautiful hotel with spectacular views of incredibly stunning countryside. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was just excellent, a wonderful hostess and flawless service. Dianne hosted our stay at the hotel, she was brilliant, super friendly and very helpful. Dianne gave us great advice on and booked us on some wonderful tours. Her advice was spot on; she checked in to make sure all was well and that we were enjoying our stay numerous times during our visit. Kudos Dianne.

ItalyWe spent three nights at Aliana Boutique Sapa Hotel & Spa and had an excellent stay, despite the fact that Sapa itself is going through a complicated period of rapid urbanization that has altered the city’s original charm. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with very cozy beds and a balcony offering a breathtaking mountain view, definitely a highlight. We also enjoyed the hotel’s SPA, which met our expectations, and had dinner one evening at the restaurant, which we found to be excellent and probably among the best in town. Breakfast was quite good overall, though there is still some room for improvement considering the hotel’s high standard. The staff was always kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, the hotel offers a very good balance between quality and price, and we would definitely recommend it for a relaxing stay in Sapa.

AustraliaAmazing views from our balcony. A short walk up the hill from the town centre, or grabbing a cab is easy. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were amazing, Lori at the front reception was extremely helpful and arranged all of our guides and drivers with a lovely smile and great English.

United StatesThe hotel is beautiful and the location is brilliant! It feels like you're miles away from anything, but it's just a short walk to get into town with hundreds of restaurants, shops, coffee, and a lovely lake. When we arrived, they had upgraded our room to a Jr. Suite, which was very large and comfortable and had a big balcony to enjoy the beautiful surrounding mountains.

FranceThe bathroom was a bit dark and the temperature of the shower was difficult to regulate.
We liked the location, aside from the noisy town center but still an easy walk to the main square. We enjoyed the view from the balcony (the very best view would be from a corner room on the far left side when facing the hotel entrance). The staff was very friendly, particularly the staff at the restaurant spoke english very well. The bed was very comfortable, so we had a good night sleep, especially after a rough night in the train. The breakfast was also enjoyable. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and the food was good. After being out the whole day, it felt relaxing having the dinner there. We much appreciated the possibility to take a shower before we left for the night train. Thank you for that!

United KingdomAir conditioning didn’t work in the room, but I didn’t report it tbf as we only stayed two nights.
The room was really comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Views across the valley are absolutely stunning. Staff were super helpful. They allowed au to leave our cases till late on the day we checked out and use the shower too. We liked the hotel being five minutes walk from the centre. Close enough to be near everything yet away from the noise, and it afforded us magnificent views. Would definitely recommend.

AustraliaExtremely attentive and friendly staff in all areas. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. Quiet location away from the city noise and crowds but still walking distance to the centre. Beautiful high quality indigo local fabrics and decor gave the hotel a distinctively northern Vietnamese ambiance.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the pool wasn’t heated—something we weren’t aware of before booking—so it was far too cold to use during our stay. It was also a bit disappointing to find there was no sauna or steam room available. While we tried the spa, the massage felt overpriced for what was offered, and the facial was underwhelming. It may be worth the management reviewing the spa staff’s training, especially given the premium pricing of the treatments.
The rooms are large and comfortable, lovely large bed and great bathroom. Friendly and welcoming staff in reception & restaurant.
