Definitely the foul odor of the sargussum. The resort could have done something about it. Why weren’t they cleaned? We also saw roaches inside the room 3x and got bitten by bugs in our legs and arms

I love the pools both by the restaurant and the infinity at the hilltop. We love the lush gardens and design of the resort. Nice room.

The beach right next to the resort isn’t great, but luckily Coki Beach is very close. The biggest downside was that there was no housekeeping at all during our stay, which was unexpected for a resort of this type. Also, everything shuts down way too early—restaurants and bars were all closed by 10pm, leaving no options for a late-night drink or snack. It would have made a big difference to have at least one bar open later into the evening.

The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Check-in was quick and efficient. The location of the hotel is fantastic—just a short and easy 5-minute walk to Coki Beach, which is truly one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The on-site shuttle service that brings you back up to your room from the main area was also a great convenience. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

I came during carnival and most of activities were canceled due to the rain. The beach area was destroyed.

Staff was great but the location was far from town and so we stayed on property most of our visit. It seemed that a Taxi from the property to anywhere was a standard $25 per person each way. That made it a bit pricey to go out and about. Beach at the property wasn’t great, pool was. Beautiful beach about 4 min walk.

Meals are a problem because there aren’t enough options. Catching a cab to go to a very expensive grocery store is a bummer also.

The servers at the restaurant had an automatic 18 percent gratuity... no incentive to be at work, and they could have cared less. One morning the server, when asked how she was (which was us as customers asking her) replied "not so good, I don't really want to be here today" ....... great server attitude, but why should she care, food was expensive and she was going to get her 18 percent regardless. You are doing your guests a great disservice. The lady scheduling the shopping trip on the Tuesday we went.... HATEFUL. Witnessed her being extremely curt/rude to someone who walked up to get more information about the event. No way to act to people spending money at your resort.

The pool was nice. The room was nice. The front desk staff and the shuttle drivers very nice.

The beach on the property is a lot smaller than expected and the water reminded me more of a lake. A little on the darker side due to seaweed but the pools made up for it. Biggest dislike is we didn’t book a longer trip.

Check in was a breeze! Our room was ready earlier than expected as we arrived a few hours prior to normal check in time. The staff was great! Everyone was friendly & helpful, lots fun personalities. Food & drinks were also really good. Good location if needing to walk to local grocery store Louie’s, or to venture out to try some local restaurants. Beautiful Coki beach was a quick 7 min walk from our resort. That beach is lively with beach bars/restaurants, shops, etc. Didn’t feel rushed out during check out time. Great experience all around!

We didn't like the fact that from day one our coffee maker did not work and service was slow upon requesting a new one.Also, the light surrounding our bathroom mirror did not work from day one as well and soap/shampoo/gel containers in the shower were next to empty upon our use. We just felt that these things should have been checked prior to our checking into the room.

I enjoyed the fact that it had everything we needed right at the resort if we chose to stay there without going elsewhere.

No daily housekeeping and if you needed it you had to do it yourself - like replace the towels or change the bedding.

Liked that it had a restaurant on the property, several amenities and it was close to the beach and several other beaches. Staff was friendly and good at recommending activities. Resort was quiet.

Parking was a bit of a hassle. The spaces are limited and sometimes I had to drive around for a bit to find one. If you don’t rent a car, this wouldn’t be a problem. It would be nice to be able to charge food/drinks/souvenirs to the room. I had to bring my wallet with me wherever I went on the resort and then also worry about it while I was in the pool. It would also be nice to at least get a discount or include the food from the restaurant with your stay. Found it odd that a Margaritaville resort wouldn’t include a Margaritaville restaurant in the price.

The room was nice and spacious. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the hilltop pool and all the bar tenders there were fun! There were free daily activities and specials that you could attend all around the resort. The friendly golf cart drivers that took you to and from your room were very helpful.

The biggest detractor was the smell of seaweed that collected on the beach. The strong odor made it difficult to spend any time in the areas near the water including the restaurant and lower pool area.

The property has been renovated in most places. We did note inconsistencies with furnishings since we had more than one room. Some rooms were fully redone while others had been redone but still had older furniture. The common areas including the fitness center were in good condition. The hillside pool was a good location to relax and offered great views of the bay.

There were 2 incidents at the hilltop pool. One was with 2 drunks that several police came to handle and my child had to witness this scene. It was very nerve wreaking and not safe for my children to be around. The second was again my children were trying to enjoy swimming after a long day of travel on our first night and this drunk group at the Hilltop pool was cursing and being sexually inappropriate. Lastly, there was no usable beach on the resort like their pictures suggested. The beach was covered in seaweed that smelled like raw sewage the entire time we stayed there. Their offer to go over to Coki Beach was even worse! People smoking weed, acting like they were on some other drugs, a lot of inappropriate music for children. I really felt after 5 mins on that beach I might step on a needle or get some kind of disease, it was disgusting.

I loved the easy convenience of the golf carts to and from the hotel rooms. The lower pool with really nice and my kids loved it. The food at Margaritaville was amazing.

Having to wait and be transported to the room was irritating, and the lack of food options on the property was mediocre. There were not a lot of things to do for children. The sofa in the room could use some upkeep.

I loved the red light pool great ambiance and the structure of the pool was amazing.
