How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The sheets and the blanket both had red/brown spots on them. Shower/bath tub needed some care and renovation.
The room was nice and clean and smelled good when we entered. The reception guy was really nice and helpful.

When the reservation was made on line for a king bed room, it pictured a sofa which was why we booked the room . Upon arriving into the room, it had two chairs, which was a disappointment.

No coffee in the rooms, one soap bar for both the bathroom and the shower. No coffee in the lobby and no breakfast.
It was a newly redeveloped hotel. What they had in place was very nice, but they really opened a week too early.

Nothing really. No issues.
Clean, easy to get to, near a good selection of chain restaurants and various price ranges. Short drive to the state park which was our reason to visit. Free breakfast but same thing every morning which is fine, but we stayed for 4 mornings so got bored with it.

Pillows were hard. Room felt cramped and small compared to pics. Doors are thin enough that you can hear even quiet conversations from outside. AC was very finicky. Different staff at check-out were rude.
It was close enough to attractions and beaches without being inundated with traffic. Breakfast was okay. Coffee was good. Pool and gym were convenient and clean. Women at check-in were friendly.

The rooms could have been cleaner. There was crushed cookies under the chair cushion and we had to pull out the mattress some looking for something and there was a bunch of crumbs and crackers on the floor under it.
Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was good.

Having a hotel right off the highway is usually ideal, but in this case, the traffic noise from the highway was sleep depriving. For my one night stay, it was tolerable, and it did not cancel out the other positives.
The overall room was spacious and met expectations. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices. The pancake machine was superb. Stay was friendly. The price was right, which is why I chose this hotel over my usual stopover.

Room was good except for big tear in curtain as you came in first thing you saw. Easy fix so why wouldn’t you fix it? First impressions go along way.

I wasn't happy about being woken up at 8 am, by a housekeeper, especially when I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign hanging on the door.
We enjoyed everything. The location was perfect and close to everything. The breakfast was good, the staff was pleasant, the family enjoyed the pool.

I would like to see two adults like us put into a section of the hotel not surrounded by parents with small children. We have had children, so I know it's natural for them to be excited and happy. But as older, weary travelers, we would have liked peace and quiet sooner.
Even though there were families around us (potentially noisy), we were pleased that the room was still quiet. We could hear children through the wall, but when it came to sleep, we did just fine.

I reserved a room with 2 beds. And when we got there in the evening to go to bed, we had no blankets just sheets and the 1 sheet on the 1 bed was on inside out.

It did not seem to be as clean as previous visits especially the desk, bathtub, phone, and tv remote. I purchased Lysol wipes to wipe down some of the surfaces and the remote. Our room had two queen beds. One of the beds had a comforter while the other one just had two sheets tucked together. The air conditioning was also very touchy. It was either too cold or too stuffy in the room.
It was a good location and the continental breakfast offered a variety of options.
