Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe breakfast staff weren't the nicest and openly complained about how busy and overworked they were (every day that we were there). They also didn't do well with providing tea/coffee, etc. We either had to ask after waiting a while or they would come around mid breakfast and offer it when they noticed they hadn't gotten to it. The breakfast was pretty decent but a lot of things were gone and not restocked. We were pretty early for breakfast each day, so we were surprised. This all isn't a big deal, of course, but it wasn't a pleasant experience overall. We felt rushed, a lot of things weren't restocked or offered, and we had to deal with staff having an attitude about it/openly complaining on top of it all. Just not a great way to start the morning. Other than that, everything else was wonderful.
I liked that the property is located on a vineyard, it was set aback from the main roads and traffic, with plenty of scenic/nature areas. I liked that it had a beautiful pool, and spa available. The decor was nice and the staff were accommodating. The breakfast was pretty decent.

United StatesThe property could benefit from some work but the squeaking floors and faded tapestries add charm and period feel.
The property is rather unique, charming, on the vineyard, surrounded by old tall trees and lots of greenery. Made a welcome change to the sameness and monotony of chain hotels. The breakfast was adequate but the coffee was bad. Had to pay dearly for a cappuccino as a special order to wake up! The staff was pleasant and helpful.

United StatesEverything at the hotel was great. We had a lot of trouble, though, contacting them by phone before arrival. On the Booking.com website we could not find a number for the hotel that answered us. We kept being transferred to an automated central booking line and we could never get through to a human. When we finally realized that the hotel is associated with the winery, we found the winery website where there was a number that worked for the hotel. Surely it should not be so difficult to call a hotel where we have a reservation!
Quiet spot in the vineyard not too far from Williamsburg. Excellent food at the tavern attached to the winery.

United StatesWe didn’t get to stay in the room that we had booked because when we checked in and went up to the room we found out that the ceiling was leaking in the bathroom and the bathroom floor was soaked. Looked like it had been leaking for a while and not one had done anything about it. If you stay here I would highly recommend you bring your own pillow, the pillows on the bed really need to be replaced. Also, if you like a firm bed you’ll love there beds but it just made my back hurt from how firm it was. Plus the room that we got relocated to the shower needed major updating/fixing, the shower head kept falling off while we were getting showers and hitting us in the head.
The area was quiet. No road noise, no screaming kids. You could take a nice walk around the Vineyard. The staff was the best and so helpful about everything. The wine tasting vouchers were a nice surprise that we enjoyed and even had us bring some wine home with us.

The property was very comfortable, with great atmosphere and good views. Just the type of spot to get away and relax. The adjacent winery might have something to do with that as well. 😊

United StatesThe distinctive location and decor make Wedmore Place stand out. The room we occupied was spacious and clean. The gathering room for breakfast is delightful ~ tables are set with white linen table cloths and hot coffee is poured table side. The breakfast buffet, which is included, is divine. Since there’s an elevator, using the stairs is optional. Free parking out front.

United StatesEverything was absolutely incredible! If I had to pick one thing overall for me, I really enjoyed all of the interior design and attention to detail that went into all of the furniture and art. To be honest, I felt like I was inside of a museum the entire time! It was just so refreshing to see and experience something different. Everything around anywhere else sort of feels like the same everywhere you go. The wedmore is special. I loved everything about it. My only complaint would be that I was not able to purchase any of the amazing artifacts I had fallen in love with during my stay. Bravo people! 👏 Bravo!

United StatesThis was our second trip to Wedmore Place. We love the location. It’s next to a lovely pond and surrounded by trees that create a calming atmosphere for morning walks. It’s so convenient to have a great restaurant and winery right next to your room. The rooms are beautiful! It doesn’t feel like a hotel. The antique furniture and art throughout the house is gorgeous and the library is well stocked. Breakfast was great. Service was excellent! Can’t wait to return!
