How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Beach properties are hard to keep nice because of the salt water. The property is older and minimally updated. It was neat and clean but a pretty basic room.
Location! Great view of the ocean from our window. Amazing price for last minute accomodations made when we got to town.

The condition of the pool room wasn’t wonderful. Sauna not functioning and there were no clean pool towels when we swam after checking in. Getting towels from the front desk wasn’t an issue.
Comfortable beds and variety of pillows. Proximity to the waterfront was fantastic. A 6 minute walk to dinner on the boardwalk! Breakfast was perfect. Delicious waffles, juice, and convenient takeaway items like yogurt and fruit and bagels. They had an iron to use when I needed one in a pinch.

The only issue which wasn’t that bad was the people upstairs seemed to be running back and fourth all night lol So it was a little hard to fall asleep
It was a close walk to the beach and all the shops and restaurants

Need to replace mattresses no support and very broken down. Windows was missing a screen so couldn't open due to bugs. Breakfast was left to be desired a protien option such as sausage or ham would have been great. Room was very loud. Could hear other guests talking and walking from above and next door

The beds were rock hard. Not enough power outlets to charge cell phones by the bed. They also need privacy curtains for the bottom rooms...
The price was very reasonable and so was the pet fee. The breakfast was okay. The pool and hot tub were nice.

Outdoor area, hallways and elevator unkempt. Garbage and cigarette butts everywhere. Sticky syrup mess and very dirty elevator. Pet waste not cleaned up by owners or hotel staff. Room was fairly clean but bad odor. Outdoor needed much attention with paint and clean up. Towels old and flimsy.
View of the beach. Very friendly staff ready to please. Swimming pool and hot tub area very good and clean Free breakfast well done.

The mattress isn’t comfortable, looks like haven’t changed for some times. Found hairs in bathroom’s curtain and next to the sink.

Outside of hotel looked run down. Inside was fairly clean, but needed some sprucing up with paint... Just looked unkempt. Bed was an old mattress. The "ocean view" was a very small view between a building and hillside.
Close to Nye Beach. Extra parking area.

Booked because it was close to the beach but doesn’t mention there’s a cliff right out the window and not able to get to it. Paid for ocean view no ocean view. Door didn’t close. No parking.
Easy to get to. Had breakfast. Pool and spa were ooen and working, beds were comfortable

Stairwell lights were out. So, it's a little dangerous at night. But the elevator worked. So, no worries.

The hotel has need of repairs throughout; the ceiling in the pool area for sure, our room had wet floors from what I assume was from the housekeeper and there were several things that needed tlc. All in all for a coast hotel these items are to be expected to come under need of repair. Mickey for sure is a keeper and deserves a special mention!
Mickey who worked the front desk upon check in was spectacular!! He deserves a special shout out for his professionalism and dedication to his work. He handled a very difficult situation before checking us in politely and when we had trouble with our tv; he went above and beyond to help fix it.
