Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis place was stunning! The location is great, the building is beautiful, the owners were so kind and the food was delicious. We had zero complaints and will most definitely be back again.

United StatesOnly complaint was a bizarre one: The music in the front parlor was set, by accident, to replay the same song non stop for at least 24 hours. That said, it was Sinatra, and a great song ...

United StatesHonestly, nothing. Everything was fantastic. If I had to be super nitpicky, the only thing I noticed—which really wasn’t a big deal—was that most of the small battery-powered candles on the shelf across from the whirlpool tub didn’t turn on. My suggestion would be to either remove them, have housekeeping check each one before check-in, or leave a stash of extra batteries on the shelves so guests can change them as needed.
The communication from the moment of booking to our goodbyes was outstanding. The detailed video walk-through, check-in instructions, and information on all the kitchen amenities were incredibly helpful. I loved the convenience of being able to do a self check-in and check-out. In our case, we were greeted by the housekeeper, who made sure we were settled in, but beyond that, it felt like our own home as we came and went throughout our stay while exploring the property. The kitchen, stocked with deli-quality meats, cheese, bread, and endless snacks, sweets, coffee, and drinks, was out of this world! This alone is a compelling reason to stay here. If you choose to stay, you’ll see what I mean—it’s an unbelievable added value included in the booking cost.

United StatesNext time we book at Villa D' Citta, we will likely request accommodations that include the bath in our room. While we still had a private bath, it was a bit cumbersome to have to leave our room to use it.
Rosa & Edith were attentive to our needs and expectations. The entire staff was friendly, accommodating and engaging. The Villa was at our disposal, and we were able to enjoy the amenities with our daughter and her husband who live nearby.

United StatesParking is stressful as there is no on-site parking (despite Booking.com telling you there is - DO NOT BELIEVE THIS). There is a loading zone in front of the Villa D'Citta. There is free public parking o/n on N. Halsted street outside the B&B from 10pm to 8am (Sunday all day), but it took a while to be able to find a spot in this busy area. Here are my suggestions: (1) Do not bring a car unless you must. Fullerton Station is close by and a short ride to downtown. (2) Get the ParkChicago app before you go, and work out how to use it. This will mentally prepare you for what you will face upon arrival. Parking on N. Halsted is reasonably priced, but the max. time you can park during the day is 3 hours. So you cannot leave your car there all day. Of course this is all out of Villa D'Citta's control. My only comment to Villa Di'Citta for improving things is regarding the email I received containing detailed instructions about the villa itself. I just glanced at the long email before setting out. About half-way down there is a link to a video that is mandatory watching, and so the host assumed I knew all sorts of things I did not. I would ask that the video link and door code be posted at the top of the e-mail, or for it to be made clear at the start of the email that the guest needs to see the video and know their door code along with how to operate the gate, elevator and doors before arriving. Inclusion of information in this email on where to park if bringing a car (where you can park, how parking works) would have been extremely useful. Although the host told me I could park for free outside o/n, I had to work out everything else myself. Although I seem to have written a lot about "what I didn't like" my only suggestion for Villa Di'Citta is to rearrange their welcome and checking-in email and to include information about parking. Otherwise big thumbs up.
The beautiful courtyard where I ate breakfast, and sitting with my mug of tea on the upper deck. Beautiful old home. I also liked that the kitchen was fully available, and preparing breakfast from all the options set out and in the fridge felt like I was part of a home. You can easily make a packed lunch to take with. Really liked the large walk-in shower, and having a bottle of water available in the room. The hosts were very attentive. It is a great location with very convenient access to Fullerton Station, and right next to the DePaul University campus.

MexicoOur room (Capone) was in the basement. If I'd been aware of this I'd have sprung for an upstairs room. It was very cold the first night, but we mentioned this to the host and he did adjust the heat. Our private bathroom wasn't in the room, but rather in the hall, but it was reserved for our use only. There is one other room on that level and that room has a private bath.
The Villa is lovely and the host was great. They have great options for breakfast which you prepare yourself. Location was really nice - lovely the neighborhood. Loved the wine on tap!
