Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRoom could have been cleaner. Walls/doors were dingy. Housekeeping pounded on my door the last two mornings even with the do not disturb sign hanging.
Right on the beach. Parking was great. Front desk employees always greeted going in or out.

United StatesThe smell of Clorox about knocked us out when we reached our room. It was so strong, you could smell it in the hallway. There were still bleach/water puddles in the floor from where housekeeping had JUST finished cleaning. We had to open the balcony doors to air out the room, I actually started getting a headache because it was so strong - bonus, THE ROOM WAS CLEAN LOL! There was still a little sand in the floor, but being at the beach, I wouldn't expect anything different. The bed was HARD AS A ROCK and leaning down on one side, I tossed and turned all 3 nights and was in excruciating pain each day after waking up. The steps that go down to the beach from the outdoor pool deck has been torn down. I'm assuming this was from Helene or possibly another storm, or maybe they just finally rotted away...either way, you could not access the beach from the normal path, so you have to go out the side doors or front door and go around the hotel to get to the beach. Hopefully a new stairway will be put in place of the other one soon. During our stay, the hotel attempted to charge our card $16 the first night around 1am roughly, $16 the 2nd night around 12am roughly, and $8 the 3rd night around 12am roughly. Each time we would address this, they would claim "resort fees". But it only happened when one particular employee would be working, and it kept saying that the reason it was declined was that the expiration date was entered incorrectly - not too sure what was going on, but we were told that it was fixed the 2nd time and they still tried that 3rd time. Once the reservation was closed out, we didn't have anymore issues. We just locked our card so that no charges could go through.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. I like that it is RIGHT ON the beach, it's clean and quiet, has balconies that you can walk out on and enjoy the fresh ocean air and listen to the waves crashing on the beach, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. You don't have to chase down extra linens, housekeeping brings some to your room when they make their rounds, and if you don't want your room tidied up, they hang the bag of linens on your doorknob. There are 2 pools, one indoor and one outdoor (neither are heated, but they are clean). There is a cafe on the 1st floor, but it is only open for breakfast and lunch (closes at 2 pm). Everything is in good working order and clean. Elevators work, AC works well. Everything around the hotel is easily accessible as it is right on A1A. There are full refrigerators in the rooms with kitchenettes. I will continue to stay at this hotel each time we come down to Daytona. It is overall a nice hotel and costs a fraction of what the run down hotels cost in the area. It's even nicer than the Hilton Oceanfront Resort!

Ocean front view is the best! Beds are comfy, and the kitchenette is so handy! Customer service is always friendly, and they always smile or greet you when coming and going. Great view of the sunrise and overall quiet rooms. Conveniently located near grocery store and of course the beach.

United StatesFull kitchen was incredibly small with just a half sized refridgerator and stove where none of the burners worked. We booked a one bedroom suite which we received a hall kitchen upon entering and the bathroom directly across from the it with no space to be able to use amenities and use the bathroom. Bathroom was very dated and dirty.

United StatesMy dislike: I was under the oppression that I was booking the sunset apartment room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed and a bedroom full bed off to the side pass the kitchen. I checked before I booked by calling tropical winds staffers, which they agreed I was booking the correct room. The staffers never mentioned that there was an update to the room had changed to only 2 beds (king and full size). Obviously, they didn't know how the room was supposed to look neither. What I didn't like about the hotel was that the pictures that were on the booking.com site didn't match the room I was booking at the hotel. The nice lady at the front desk at Tropical Wind informed me when I got to the hotel that it was updated three years ago and the pictures on the booking.com site were old. I also did not like that the stove turn handles were rubbed off, and I could not see the temperature notches on the dial, so I had to just figure it out. I also did not like the sunset apartment room that I booked was filled with extra furniture that was not necessary. I kept hitting my leg on the sofa every time I came from the side of the bed near the window. I also did not like that the stairwell, leading down to the beach, was closed off and under construction. Guess from the hotel had to exit from the side door, walk down the driving ramp leading toward the beach.
I like that the location of the hotel was near the water. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The hotel was clean.
