Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

CanadaThe front entrance was locked when we arrived and the concierge was not available so we had to wait. The room was ok but many things are not provided like coffee maker and drinking mugs. There is no bedside lamp which is inconvenient. The price is expensive for a room worse than a hostel room.
The location is great, close to subway station and wall Street.

The first room we were given had a number of unacceptable problems so we requested a different room. The front desk was very helpful and he moved us to a better room and which was comfortable, quiet and clean. This review is written about the second room that we moved to.

United KingdomThe room wasn’t in great condition at all, for the price I wasn’t expecting much but at minimum was expecting it to be clean which wasn’t necessarily the case. The floor was just the basic concrete which I understand can be an industrial style but it just looked and felt dirty - I kept my shoes where possible. There were dirty marks on the wall (including shoe prints, and a section where the plastic had been hit or smashed and hadn’t been repaired), and the area around the aircon looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, the same for the inside of the cupboard behind the mirror in the toilet. The toilet sink also was slightly detached from the wall which made me a bit nervous. Additionally the main plug socket next to the bed looked completely unsafe and I didn’t even consider using it. Overall a passable hotel if you’re only after a bed, but not necessarily a pleasant environment. The staff all seemed lovely however one really major point that made me uncomfortable was when I was checking in the receptionist stated my room number out-loud multiple times, as a young female solo traveller I didn’t know the other guests in reception, and felt uncomfortable knowing they now knew my exact room in a very small hotel, every other hotel I’ve been to writes the room number down & points it out for that exact reason. Between the general condition of the room and this interaction I definitely wouldn’t say I felt completely comfortable while I was there. However the bedsheets were clean and the door locked, so I stayed given I was only in the room for a few hours each day.
Great location, right next to several subway stops so really accessible, the bed was comfy, there was a modern TV in the room and the door had a lock on it.

AustraliaDid not like that we were told we could leave our bags but when we arrived had to pay a lot extra for early check in which we did not want. Took our bags up and went to the bathroom and did not return until 5:30pm so early check in was unnecessary even though we arrived around 10 am It had kitchenette but no plates or detergent or sponge so was pointless having it. No tea towel. Should have a check list so guests or cleaners can mark off what is still there and what is not Shower tiles need a good scrub with orange scum very evident.

This boutique hotel offers incredible value in lower Manhattan. The room is spacious and includes a small balcony, kitchenette and dining area. It's close to everything, and a train straight into upper Manhattan is steps from the door.

AustraliaThe front desk staff seemed very money-hungry, trying to get extra charges out of me wherever possible. The bed was very hard and made it uncomfortable to sleep. The walls are very thin, so you can hear everything happening in the bedroom next door. There was no water provided, no hair dryer, either, and no phone to call reception.
The location was great; it was close to the subway and easily within walking distance of attractions. The cleaning staff helped me fix a broken blind in the room which was great!

United StatesThe front staff asked us to pay 4% fee for using credit card on top of the total amount shown on Bookings.com site. I told him I am going to call Bookings customer service, he backtracked. The room was not clean. The room had no carpets and was bare concrete floor. Bathroom doors could not be closed properly as the knob was missing. The balcony was an open common area for dumping trash and damaged furnitures and construction debris covered in tarp. There was loud noise and staff talking in the balcony during late night. There was no privacy to change clothes or getting intimate with wife in the room. The room was not dark due to outside lights coming through window and big go under the door. Some trash was left behind in the under-sink cabinet. Bathroom was tiny and not clean. Did not feel safe or had privacy in the room. Completely felt like sleeping in a subway station. Also beware of large number of immigrants staying nearby and hang out in big groups at night.
The location of the property is good in terms of access to subway and uber. Very close to stations.

United StatesThe room was extremely loud in the middle of the night. I don't know that the window AC unit sealed properly, so I could hear everything on the street. The chain latch on the door was installed backwards and didn't work properly. I was unaware if wifi or any other amenities were available. My keycard never worked for the front door and for some reason stopped working for my room after the first night.
The location was very convenient. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
