How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast was disappointing, with too much emphasis on sweet cereals, breads etc. More fruit and vegetables would have been appreciated.
Location was ideal, being within a short walk of several restaurants. The room was very spacious.

Upon arrival, gave my card for miscellaneous charges. Had booked through booking.com. The hotel charged me for the night. At no time was I contacted. Now trying to either get booking.com or Travelodge to reverse double charges.

The bath was disdusting, the wall in the bathroom was dirty. It was the worst breakfast I have ever seen. If they can only provide a place and breakfast like this, it would be better if there was no free breakfast. The dining area is too small, it's almost impossible to sit down, there are lines for everything. Even getting and heating a toast was a problem. After the breakfast we were hungry, so we got tired of waiting.
The location was good. TV controller was good working. Shampoo was enough for us.

I paid extra for Lake view room. Lady at check-in didn't seem to know which room this is. I had checked in online. She handed me a sheet to fill in the exact info I had already sent. The room had no lake view. So I had to come up with the idea to put my on an upper floor. Got there. This thing about a lake view is a total farse. False advertising. Don't buy it. The lake is about 10km away. And to the side. Can hardly see it. Free breakfast not worth it. Tiny room. Not enough tables or chairs. Crowded. Queing for ages. Food below average

We read really bad reviews after we booked it. We were therefore hesitant to actually go here. But our room had no issues at all. The airconditioning was very loud though.
At a very, very affordable price (especially for US standards), the service was great. The breakfast had sufficient options, but if you really want to have a wholesome start of your day you'd better go somewhere out. The comfort of the beds was good and the room was decently clean. Some stains in the carpet.

Great location, easy to walk to restaurants from the Motel. Staff were very kind & welcoming. The rooms are basic, however comfortable & have all amenities such as a fridge included.

While you could see the general Lake Powell area, we definitely did not have views of Lake Powell.
The location suited us as it was a short drive to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell with good restaurants close by. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable beds. Parking onsite was free and a good breakfast included.

Staff overwhelmed with breakfast demand and no where to sit.
Seemed to be in a remodel phase and a bit disorganized but room was large and very clean with a great shower.

breakfast was fine but there weren't enough table for all the guests. Got locked out of room because the mag safe on my phone cleared the card. The staff very quickly helped, but actually didn't ask me for any information other than our room number... a little more of a security check would have made me feel a little more comfortable.

The pool was not available because of maintenance. This with 30+ celcius was not nice since we would have loved to take a jump in the pool. This was not communicated.
