How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Its old fashioned, but cheap. One of the blinds were broken and everyone could see what was happening inside, so we had to improvise and put a bag to cover the hole.
The beds were very comfortable and big. The front desk guy was really nice, let us do a late check in even after 11pm. Free parking. Free towels, a cleaning lady came and changed them everyday.

Quite run down Bathroom door was broken and not fixed Ironing mark on the carpet But these were just optics, everything worked and it was clean

The place is outdated and needs some maintenance. Everything has an "old" vibe to it (as opposed to, like a newly renovated facility) which I understand is something that is very expensive and this place is budget friendly. They have a microwave that didn't work too well (the turning thingy was broken and it wasn't heating food evenly) and I can only assume it is an old microwave. The toilet seat had chipping on it...needs replacing just for an improved cosmetic look.
This location is fairly close to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf. Depending on your walking ability, it's a 15-20 minute walk. There is a good coffee shop nearby and places to get pizza, sandwiches etc. within walking distance. The bus that takes you to the Golden Gate Bridge is also about a block away. It's clean, parking is available (although it can get tight depending on how crowded occupancy is). They also provide those typical mini shampoos and lotions. It is a budget hotel so the price is reasonable.

The room was a little dirty and smelled when we first arrived. The toilet seat was really loose and low. The shower door was very rigid and the lights kept flickering and going out.
The location was great. There were a lot of restaurants and things to do around the area. Guaranteed parking was free so that's always a plus. Free ice downstairs. A/C blew crispy cold. Great deal for the price.

The property could perhaps do with a little redecorating, but it was not too bad.
The host was very helpful, especially on our last day when we were delayed returning to collect our luggage from behind the desk a few hours after checkout. It was a great price for a location not too far from the desired tourist areas, and was also well located for using San Francisco's public transport system.

Room is in desperate need of painting/repair. Hair dryer did not work.
The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Parking included which is convenient.

Breakfast would always be a plus. A microwave in the room would be great but Honestly everything was fine and I have no complaints. It is an older motel with kinda old furniture and fittings, don't expect a 5 star hotel with brand new everything. But it was absolutely perfect for me.
Location is perfect: walking distance from supermarket, stores, diners, cafes, marina and fisherman's wharf. Parking was great, there was always plenty of room for my car (March 2025). Bus stops right outside the door which take you to the Golden Gate/Presidio park and anywhere in the city centre. The room itself was big and had everything I needed (fridge, tv, coffee maker, hair dryer). It was clean. The neighborhood is absolutely fine and quiet so I felt safe and didn't have to worry constantly about my car. The staff was friendly and helpful.
