Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe charms of an old house come with some quirks like uneven cooling and interesting shower fixtures, but I love all that! Just be warned if you are the type of traveler who usually prefers the consistency of a generic chain hotel.
Such a unique and charming property! The house has been carefully restored and has so many beautiful touches by local artists inside and out (e.g. tiles, wallpapers, photography, drawings, paintings, sculptures).

United StatesWe wished the bathroom shower could have had a stronger and wider spray from the shower head. Beautiful deep tub, though. Would have been great for a deep, relaxing hot soak!
Really cool historic old home. Lovely two room suite. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was limited, but enough for a healthy, light breakfast. You also had the option of having breakfast delivered right to your room, which was a great option.

United StatesRoad noise was pretty loud at times, but with the A/C or the fan running it was not a problem sleeping.
Enjoyed breakfast out on the patio. Good french press coffee, and the bread, sourced from a local bakery was wonderful. Enjoyed the history of the building. Cole was a great host, very flexible when our plans changed at the last minute.

United StatesManage your expectations. The kids got a kick out of staying in an 1800's mansion. This is legit, a haunted house! The rooms are smaller. And it feels like your being transported back in time. I expected to meet an apparition every time I walked through the halls at night.
Breakfast was delicious. Location is fantastic. You're smack in the middle of the Armory district in Providence. Federal Hill is a 15 min walk. Cranston St with it's Latino flavor is a quick 10 jaunt. Property is on Broadway, with it's endless breakfast/ brunch options. I can't say enough how convenient the location is. The best part is the staff. They were super accommodating. Regina was fantastic to work with, and I apologize, but there was another young woman that was working the weekends that was also super nice and helpful. The fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks, and there were always snacks on hand that we definitely indulged in. This was a very fun and unique stay that I will tell all my friends about. I just hope the secret doesn't get out!

United StatesThe apple cider donuts are amazing, and the staff was kind enough to text me for my breakfast order when I was out later than planned to get my order in before the staff left for the day. It's a super cute, privately owned place in a really convenient location, and they had no issue accommodating my stay as it was 2-3 times longer than the usual guests they get.

RomaniaThe beds are a bit small; lack of tv (although, we wouldn't have time for it)
For us, as tourists, it was a wonderful experience ... we were accommodated in an old-style american house, renovated, clean, located in a quiet area and with very kind and friendly hosts, who prepared us breakfast every morning.

Puerto RicoSpent several days at The Wedding Cake House during my daughter's college graduation. The architecture inside/out is tremendous. Also, the history of the property is admirable. The young artist in charge of the property, while I was there, exceptional!!!! The room size was larger than expected, and clearly all of the property is being extremely well maintained. Enjoyed every minute of it. Looking forward to stay again in my next visit to Providence. Thanks!!!!

United StatesI went with a friend as a final stop on our "Celebrating 70" trip. It was a beautiful property and we enjoyed learning about its history, the restoration, and all the lovely details. It was convenient to places we wanted to see and our room was lovely. We each had a room and there was a sitting areas also. I enjoyed exploring the different places in the house and seeing the "before" pictures. The stairs with a suitcase were a little tough...but enough to not come back......no! Next time I'll pack less! Pippi was wonderful and we felt welcomed. The breakfast was perfect and the outdoor seating was lovely and maybe next time we will utilize it...but Providence was experiencing a heat wave so we chose the dining room.

No TV so we could enjoy the ambiance, room was huge and bed comfortable. Got to bathe in a claw tub, and go up in the very top towers - so amazing!

Xander our host was very attentive and breakfast was delightful with a choice of having it served to us on the patio , in our room or in the quaint dining room . A/C and fan worked really well and plumbing was also top class . We wish we had longer .

United StatesTher noise outside in the very early morning. People yelling etc. Not WCH's fault at all.
The service and history of the mansion. Anna was fantasticly warm and accomodating. The breakfast was delicious and served as asked. The WCH definitely caters to detail and wants to make their clients' stay as comfortbale as possible. I also like the various patios and "nooks" within and outide the house. My favorite by far was the rain shower. After a long day of travel, the hot rainshower was incredible!
