How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location was very close to the beach and close to all shops and restaurants.
It said we had a partial sea vewiw but we didn't. If you stood on the far edge of the patio, you could see the view but not from the condo.we did have maid service that was nice. We never saw or spoke with any staff except for at check-in . Also, the laundry room was located right under our room, so there was constant heat and noise from that.

Verified reviewFabulous location - walking distance to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery store. Spacious room - could hear the sound of the waves from bed! I was able to enjoy walking the beach multiple times during my stay. The room was very clean. Well-appointed kitchen!
The room was a little stuffy at night. Would be nice if there were larger fans available - but overall a fantastic stay!

Regarding the pool, it's managed by the Tolovana Inn, and to our knowledge, they do not have plans to reopen the hot tub—this is why it's not mentioned in our listing. However, we do offer a Jacuzzi on-site exclusively for our guests to enjoy. I feel tricked. They gave us a small room far away from the rest of the hotel; a couple of streets away. It was small room above a pizza shop. It was not part of the motel itself, and it did not look like the rest of the rooms on the pictures

We were in the annex. It was above a restaurant and eating area which was noisy and had no view other than the side of 2 buildings. Bed was very soft sunk in the middle. For over 300 a night expected a bit more.

The little refrigerator is noisy and there was some other HVAC machine that also was loud.. I have a sleep disorder so those kind of environments are difficult for me also the inability to close the window close to the ceiling was also not good for my disorder..

The room was above the laundry and it was loud and hot most the time. No AC. No screens on the window when we opened them. Door difficult to lock. The only view I could see was of the dog park and people leaving their dogs feces for most the day.

Our hotel laundry shuts down around 5pm to minimize any noise or heat, though we understand the nearby guest laundry may still be noticeable. A/C is uncommon on the Oregon Coast, as the sea breeze and open windows usually keep things comfortable. We'll be sure to monitor the pet area closely, especially since we aren't a pet friendly hotel and that area is mostly for service animals. And apologies for the door lock - our maintenance staff would've loved to fix that for you while you were here. Verified reviewWe loved the location because it happened to be right near where our family was staying. The beds were comfortable and It was very convenient to get to the beach. We especially enjoyed having the warm pool to enjoy after being on the beach.
There were three brooms in the condo but no dustpans which made cleaning up after ourselves more difficult. Please add those to the room.

Verified reviewFantastic location ... in the heart of downtown, so a quick and easy walk to shops and restaurants. And just steps from the beach. Gas fireplace in our room kept us toasty and warm even though it was raining and cold for most of the weekend. Wonderful experience and will definitely stay here again!

The pictures on the site were deceiving. It looked like a nice place based on the pictures, but when we got there the kitchen was not as pictured, nor were the rooms. It was clean, but very run down and not worth the price I paid to stay. Based on this alone I will not be booking with them again.

The stairs were a little hard to walk up and down had to make sure you didn’t slip because of the carpet. There should be hooks for jackets or clothes, etc., in the bedrooms and at entry. Suggestion: behind hutch going up wall of stairs.
