How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was clean and new. We had 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds and it was perfect for our family. There was a living room with lots of space. Great location too. Will be back.

We stayed in room 607, having been upgraded by staff to a suite for our 3 day stay. The room was stylish, comfortable and quiet, and spotless. The room overlooked treetops and a courtyard between buildings. I was surprised to learn the hotel was renovated in 2021 as it felt brand new. All staff were positive and professional. Thank you for an outstanding stay.

The room was not huge but it was perfectly formed. Big drawers, enuf hangers, free drinks and snacks and enough room with the shelves for all my toiletries, big bedside tables and large desk… Jazz downstairs is fantastic

Please put real mugs or cups and saucers for coffee and real glasses in the bathroom. Everything was so nice and that would make it a notch above the rest. Overall, excellent.
The Hotel is wonderful and location is great. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Everyone was very kind and professional. The room was very nice, everything seems brand new and it was perfect. I really enjoyed my stay and would return.

Only thing I can think of is that we could ear water running from above rooms. But our stay was absolutely perfect and would definitely stay again and recommend.

Absolutely beautiful big room, decorated and styled minimally but tastefully and with fantastic attention to detail. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and extremely friendly and helpful. The location was great.

Just one small issue was the size of the bath towels which were very small
Really great location just a few blocks from Central Park. The hotel was stylish and comfortable and staff were great. Rooms were comfortable and a good size

Ignored some prestay requests like separate bedding and baby cot, and even when reminded twice after our arrival regarding the bedding, claimed it was on its way when it wasn't. They also forgot to do housekeeping.

I was a bit disappointed when the hotel did not agree to store all of our luggage, as we were returning two days later with a new reservation. I understand that this is the hotel’s policy and that storage space is limited; however, given that we were coming back to book a suite and had no other storage alternatives, I would have expected some extra effort to accommodate our request. (They did agree to keep 2 of our 4 pieces.) In the end, no hard feelings!

Wish I had more time there.
Spent over 2 weeks living at The Wallace Hotel this July and it was pure magic. ✨ From the moment I walked in, the calming scent of their Earl Grey Tea candle and the warm greeting from doorman Jay Sean set the tone. The rooms were spotless, housekeeping is top tier, and the front desk team handled every request—big or small—with professionalism and care. Special shoutouts to Greg, Joseph, Naika, Melveta, Angel, Juan, and Jay Sean for making my stay unforgettable. 💫 Whether I was listening to jazz in the lounge or relaxing on the rooftop, every moment felt like a scene from a movie. The Wallace is truly a hidden gem on the Upper West Side. Can’t wait to go back.
