I miss the friendly original owner and his welcome. But it’s a new corporate world.

We’ve stayed here multiple times under prior ownership. Lovely restored historic hotel. Easy to get in with our codes. Comfortable bed and chairs. Great tub. Easy walk to restaurants and to the OSF. Ashland is friendly, safe, calm, with lots to do.

    Nothing, really. No problems.

The atmosphere was a wonderful surprise! Decor suiting the early 1900s was interesting & fun. Our junior suite had plenty of room & a great tub. All was clean & comfy. We liked the shared dining room where coffee was available & we were able to play cards. A great stay!

Everything was great. It was a very warm day, around 100 and the AC worked very well when we checked in. I don't know if it automatically is turned down or off at night, but we both woke up a bit warm. We used the ceiling fan.

We loved the charm of the hotel, the cleanliness, the communication from the hotel via text and email, the quiet area and the courtyard

The only possible negative is that sound from other rooms carried sometimes, but it is to be expected in an old historic hotel.

I loved the location to downtown. My son loved that it was close to the skate park. The nostalgia and history was super interesting. We learned something by looking around the lobby. The garden was so peaceful as well. I will definitley stay again!!

I didn't find much that was wrong. When the air conditioning turned on, it made the room buzz, yet it felt like it added to the hotel's spookiness.

The moment you walk in, you feel like you're returning in time. The craftsmanship was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was specifically unique. In addition, the little complementary gifts, like chocolates and morning coffee, made the stay even more enjoyable!

There’s nothing not to like about this property. But you might want to let people know that the only access to the second floor is by stairs.

You’ll probably have a few creaks in the floor of your room, but that’s to be expected. It’s worth it to stay in such a charming and original place.

It was a pleasure to see and even feel the history of the hotel during our stay. We appreciated the photos and descriptions throughout. The lobby has a wonderful atmosphere.

Limited number of rooms means you have to reserve over 6 months in advance during OSF season. Reservations are only through Booking.com which some travelers aren’t familiar with.

A perfect location to experience Ashland w/privacy and amenities. Great walkable location, adjacent to the Peerless Restaurant, one of Ashland’s best upscale dining experiences. The public spaces in the hotel are well-appointed and comfortable for quiet time.

When going through booking I didn’t get my email for checking in, it went to my notifications in my booking app. I called the hotel staff since there is no on site staff and they were so helpful. She explained sometimes this happens when booking through a third party site. Otherwise the property was amazing!!! I do wish we could have early check in if the room is ready.

The Peerless is a magnificent property. When I saw the pictures online, I knew it was something I would love, however, arriving to the property and seeing the grounds and location, I was pleasantly surprised at how tidy and beautiful it was in person! It feels like staying in a historic (possibly haunted) mansion and I loved it on sight! When we got to our room we found it had a sitting room, as well as a large suite with jacuzzi tub that was big enough for our couples weekend! The bed was cozy and the colors were so bright and fun and the windows let in streaming light from every part of the suite. There are windows on 3 side for a panoramic feel as well as a quaint and cozy touch by having window coverings that allowed in light but could be closed up or down for privacy. The room was immaculate, and had antique furniture and baubles that made it feel like being at home!

Room too dark, no table or chairs to sit while drinking coffee or using laptop. Needs a stool to get into bed for short people. Bathroom mirrors I could only see top third of my face.

Location, period decor, walkable with wheelchair to downtown.
