We both loved the property. Our only minor note is that we love the look of the bathroom sink, but practically the way the faucet tended to turn on with sudden force and the perfect bowl of the sink, there was a tendency to more often than not, turn the water on to a sudden gush of water which hit the curve of the sink and fly up on the person standing there leaving one’s groin wet.

The property was charming and well appointed. The bed was comfortable

Was disappointed that the cups weren’t clean. They had obvious dust all over them. You can hear the people above trudging around.

The location was great! The room was a good size with a huge tub!

Beautiful property in downtown. We found it easily and the check in instructions were clear. We loved the outdoor spaces, the comfortable bedding and the luxurious bathroom. We walked to dinner and a play and it was very nice not to be concerned about downtown parking!

I am a lady of a certain age (79) The bed, although comfortable, is difficult to get into because of the height. Assist grips in the bathroom for toilet and shower would make this just about perfect.

location is good. It was great being able to do a load of laundry. The Food co-op being just down the street is a big plus.

The property is very centrally located and the backyard area is really cute. The little balcony patio overlooks the local post office, which is kind of a bummer but it also has a nice view of downtown and the hills. There’s a restaurant nearby called Cocorico, which we went to, which was fabulous and it’s only about a block away. The amenities in the room were great lots of thought given to all the coffee, accessories, etc. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Our only-- and I mean only-- feedback was that the bed was a too firm for our liking, and the sheets were a bit scratchy. Which we found odd, considering how upscale literally everything else is.

The room is elegant down to every single last detail. The location to downtown and some of the Ashland's best restaurants makes this stay extra wonderful! Check-in was a breeze, and it's a "do it yourself" situation. Can't wait to come back.

The owners were so thoughtful and communicative. They sent a text message the day of arrival and left a welcoming note and snacks to greet us. The unit was perfectly located and we could walk to everything in downtown Ashland. The unit itself was beautiful! The decor and lighting was gorgeous and the double showerhead was heavenly. It was a warm and cozy homebase for our Ashland adventures. Will definitely use Swank House for our next visit!

    Nothing :)

The location was perfect - very close to downtown Ashland, restaurants, and even a cool grocery store (Ashland Coop). Our room had a very nice patio where we could hang out and enjoy the outdoors. And the owners were very communicative - sending us texts to welcome us and ask if we needed anything.

great location. beautifully renovated home(s) into 4 suites. small kitchen fully equipped. walk in shower for two :) comfy beds great food nearby and an easy walk to the oregon shakespeare festival. also the AC worked well which was needed given that it was quite hot and we traveled with our labrador.

Lack of counter space in bathroom. A small table next to the coffee cart would be a nice addition for ease of prep

Location was excellent for walking to restaurants, Lithia Park and Thomas theater. We parked the car when we arrived and got back in it to leave Ashland. A charming room which was comfortable and private and quiet. The upper room had sloped ceilings and a very small bathroom so maybe not best for very tall people. It was fine for us. This was Suite 2 with private entrance. If you’re looking for something other than your average or luxury hotel room..this may be it. We will stay here again.

Parking was ample but, for the address, enter US Post Office on N 1st St in Google/Apple Maps because you cannot turn south on 1st St to reach the Post Office from the Matriarch address on B St.

The Swank House Matriarch (Suite 1) was modern and decorated in a genuinely interesting fashion - the photos are representative. We had friends visit and so the adjacent private patio was much appreciated. Check-in just involved receiving the code - parking was close and easy. We met no staff but needed none. The bed was fine but the description might note that it is unusually high and so might be a challenge for people under 5'6" height. The bath was copper, the shower and washstand were attractive and roomy. WiFi was fine and USB outlets were available on the bedside stands but desk facilities for a business visitor might be too limited. We dined at the excellent Cocorico Restaurant a 5 minute walk south on N Street, walked downtown to the Downtown Plaza for breakfast and walked around the Lithia Park until the day got hot, so we reluctantly started our drive north.
