Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe Jewel is perfectly located just steps from Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, MoMA, and several subway stations. It makes an ideal base for exploring both uptown and downtown Manhattan, as well as Brooklyn. I especially appreciated how quiet the room was—it truly didn’t feel like I was in the heart of such a busy city. I would gladly stay here again.

ArgentinaI had a fantastic one-week stay at The Jewel Hotel and I would highly recommend it. The location is simply unbeatable, just steps away from the main tourist attractions. My room was clean, spacious, with a very comfortable bed, and offered a unique view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. The staff provides highly personalized attention, which makes a remarkable difference compared to large hotels where this important aspect is often lost. I would like to especially recognize Sandy, who was exceptionally attentive throughout my stay, addressing all my needs with outstanding kindness and professionalism. I would also like to acknowledge Erick for his dedicated assistance and remarkable commitment to service. For all these reasons, I strongly recommend The Jewel Hotel and sincerely hope to return in the near future.

PhilippinesFantastic location, across the street from the Rockefeller Center and a few steps down the road to St. Patrick's Cathedral and the fabulous shopping on 5th Avenue. It had a small entrance lobby, which was manned at all times. Other than the unbeatable location, the one other thing that really made this boutique hotel special was that everybody looked like they were happy to be working there. The vibe was friendly, professional, relaxed and warm. We had arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight from Vancouver and were invited to freshen up and have coffee in the lounge on the second floor. They kept our bags while we went around until our room was ready in the afternoon. We were given an upgrade to a bigger room, which gave all three of us a much appreciated breathing space. The room itself was very clean, tastefully designed and very well equipped, the beds were comfortable, 2 pillows per person, warm blanket. The bathrooms had walk-in showers, which we prefer over a bathtub. There was a kitchen, which we didn't get to use, but it was fitted to prepare meals. Our short trip to New York was made exceptional by our stay at this hotel. Truly a jewel!
