How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewProperty was easily accessible and in the heart of the city. We also liked how it felt like we had an apartment (high ceilings and spacious) even though it was a hotel. With the digital key it was easy to access without the need of a concierge or staff member.

Verified reviewVery good location, spacious room and bathroom, and very good capsule coffee.
I would welcome opening the windows since the AC does not change the air enough.

Verified reviewWe loved the location! It's conveniently within walking distance of all the main city attractions and just a 10–15 minute walk from Jefferson Station, which has direct service to and from Philadelphia Airport. The neighborhood felt safe, and a Sonder employee was present when we arrived, which made the check-in process smoother. The room was well-equipped, and we appreciated the coffee pods — a nice touch!
There was an unbearable noise coming from the bathroom area — not sure if it was the AC or something else, but it was very loud. We only stayed one night, so we managed, but it was definitely unpleasant. The check-in process also wasn’t as smooth as what I’ve come to expect from Sonder. Since they’ve switched to Marriott, it took longer than usual to receive the access codes.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a great location — LGBT+ friendly and close to the city center and all major landmarks. Check-in is very easy through the app, and you don't have to interact with any staff in person. If you arrive early, you can use lockers to store your luggage. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed, including a coffee machine, plenty of towels, Wi-Fi, amenities, and even earplugs. I also requested an extra blanket in advance, and it was already prepared in the room on the day of our arrival.
There was a very loud noise coming from the air conditioners in the courtyard, which we could hear through the window. I believe the hotel is aware of this issue, as there was a sign in the room warning that the street might be noisy and providing earplugs. But trust me — even the earplugs didn’t help. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Verified reviewIt was a really nice and airy room with great high ceilings. Quite large bathroom for this kind of room. The location was good and also nice to see a different side of Philly.
I hade the room high up in the corner and the windows didnt help at all for music. One of the evenings there was a party in the street which sounded so loud it was hard to sleep. They even hand out earplugs which is good but didnt help. Rest of the evenings it was better. Changing windows would really improve the room. Bath was a bit worn but still nice and with a large window.

Verified reviewVery friendly staff that we met, although you don't normally see anyone as everything is self-run. They do have 6 lockers (4 small ones and 2 for big suitcases). We did get them for our suitcase before check in.
Thank God we did get the lockers for our suitcases.

Our bathroom door didn't close fully and the air con was a little loud. They do give ear plugs in the room which were good.

Verified reviewBeing able to wait in the lobby area because you aren't able to access the room till 4pm. Happy this was for only 1 night. Immensely relieved when fire alarm was switched off.
Everything. I booked & paid for 2 rooms requesting they be close together. 2nd room was not allocated (but I paid for two!) so had to make 3 phone calls to get this sorted. Approx 45mins each time as there is no receptionist. When 2nd room provided was at different location which is impossible as my phone was required to open the door so can't be in 2 locations. Had to get the 2nd room at the Hilton around the corner, last minute. The pull out bed wasn't made up and not comfortable, also the small bar fridge rattled all night sounding like someone trying to get in the door.

Verified reviewThe location was central. Walkable to most sites. The elevator was broken. Was informed of such just before we arrived. No one seemed to be working on fixing it during our 4 day stay. Staff were nonexistent. We did see one worker with a Sonder shirt on. We asked when the elevator would be fixed. He said probably tomorrow. We did not see any people inspecting the elevator at any time. So, I think he was just trying to appease us. The process of gaining access into the building was complicated. Made even more complicated by the elevator being broken. We were told to use the back door for access. The entry door was sticky. Especially in the humid weather. So, very difficult to open. The toilet was very loud when flushed. The dual headed shower trickled out.
Better communication would have been helpful. Looks like the elevator was out for quite awhile. Maybe providing a discount for the inconvenience of walking up and down 5 flights of stairs.

Verified reviewThe bathroom shower was great. The bed was comfy. I loved the luggage lockers for after check-out. The lounge area was comfortable. The location was fantastic, and I would stay there again. I appreciated being able to text my questions to staff.
The coffee maker didn't work in my room, but there was one in the lobby. I'm sure they'll replace it.
