Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesCommunication was exceptional regarding check in, code access, and readiness of room since we arrived early. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We walked to the park, brunch, the pink ladies tourist area, and even grabbed some things from Trader Joe's just down the street. Would highly recommend anyone needing a place to stay while in the city.

United StatesI think it would be nice if in the rooms there were two water bottles - with a little note that just a half block up there is the Alamo cafe and a small deli. After asking I learned where I could get some drinks for the room. Alamo cafe was nice for a breakfast sandwich tea / coffee and the deli was great for getting some water bottle etc.snacks to have in the room . There is a small refrigerator in room. In the room I was in I think a small table under the sink in bathroom would be helpful for toiletries/ makeup. No area to keep those items in bathroom.
It was quaint and staff was very friendly….however no one at desk after 5 pm. Access with in with your key.

United StatesBus stop right outside our window had buses seemingly every few minutes. The parking was on the street & subject to time/enforcement & availability so that should be a consideration
Friendly staff, clean spacious, reasonably priced

United StatesThe price. But is anything in the city a value?
Excellent location. Very walkable to all areas. We had a corner room, so plenty of light and fresh air. The room seemed newly renovated, so everything was in good condition and it was clean. VERY quiet. I would have thought we were the only people there. The staff was very communicative and helpful.

Costa RicaParking can be difficult around the hotel (whole SF problem). A lot of noise enters the room from the street.
Beautiful Victorian house. If you need public transportation , bus stops right in front. They recommend parking places if you go in car, they are cheaper than then the average Parking around the city (but not so close to the hotel, so better take Uber or bus back in case you dont love to walk). Easy check in.

United KingdomThe self check in information wasn't timely enough. As an international visitor I was relying on airport WiFi to get the self check in information, despite asking multiple times and sharing my personal details twice upon request to receive the same. Even an international eSIM takes a while to kick in so I am thankful SFO had good WIFI to access emails when I landed to get this info. It's a minor detail but just good to start the trip without having to worry about getting the details for getting through the door in a new city!
The perfect stay for my first time in SF! The location near the Painted Ladies is so convenient for Golden Gate Park, Haight St, and getting up to Pier 39 etc. The room was absolutely beautiful. It was well equipped with a fridge, coffee machine, and a nice seating area to enjoy an afternoon tea. There was a fan and even a white noise machine provided which I appreciated so much as a light sleeper, but the bed was so comfy and the house so quiet I slept great! It was the perfect escape in the vibrant city!

Italyfunny linguistic misunderstanding, due to Booking' s wrong translation of "bay window" as Finestre a golfo". It is in fact a BOW window, for those who know the UK English term only: not looking upon any Gulf whatsoever! Yet, quite pleasant. ;-))

United KingdomNo negatives at all.
The reception staff were all very helpful. The property is an old Victorian house with plenty of character, in a quieter part of the city, just a block away from the Painted Ladies and Alamo Square Park. There's no elevator, but has a luggage lift, and it's only one flight of stairs to the rooms, but this may be an issue for those with mobility issues. Had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again.
