Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesUnfortunately the rooms share a thermostat so our room happened to get very warm, uncomfortably so. But it was also a fluke we visited during one of the hottest weekends so far this summer. I don’t think this would be an issue if it was not for the very hot days and nights we had.
It is a beautiful retro property that has been redone to have modern amenities and comforts.

United StatesSuch an adorable place. Beautifully decorated and very clean. The grounds were so quaint, from the bocce ball to the beautiful flowers surrounding the property, but my personal favorite was the s’mores kit in room with fire starter kit and a bundle of logs for the fire outside everyone’s room.

United StatesThis was my second time to stay at The Grayhaven and I will again if I make it back to Ithaca from Texas! It’s close to the State Parks and easy to get into town for restaurants and shopping. The rooms are large and beds are comfortable! It’s such a quaint and pretty little motel!

United StatesGreat motel with a lot of little extras. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a friendly check -in. Our room had a working record player with vintage records and a smores kit complete with fire starters and marshmallow sticks. There was a fire pit right outside nestled in a beautiful gardens patio. Everything was very clean and the pillows on the bed were super comfy.

United StatesNothing!
The GreyHaven is a wonderful place in Ithaca! This is a family run operation and they have renovated all the rooms! The outdoor facilities include Adirondack chairs around several fire pits and there's wood to start a fire too provided with the room. The attention of the owners was wonderful and I cannot express how accommodating they were. We went to Ithaca beer and the owner even offered to pick us up if necessary. Pick this "motel" for accommodations in Ithaca!!!!

United StatesThe location is very close to the road and it's LOUD (lots of trucks). There's a sound machine in the room to use and we figured out why pretty quickly. The windows seem paper thin. The blind in the very large front window does not go down all the way - there's a gap at the bottom in which anyone could peek in - that was a bit unsettling. The TV is very small given how far it is from the bed, but with a one night stay it would be fine.
Great location in terms of proximity to attractions and things to do (parks, shopping, Ithaca Beer Co., etc.). The check-in process was great - they overcommunicate and that's exactly what needs to happen so we always had the information we needed. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Wifi was great.

MexicoThe bathroom is small, and our room was never cleaned during our 3-night stay. We were next to a staff-only room (or closet) and they slammed the door at 7 AM - we were tired from travelling so that wasn't great.
We attended the Cornell Reunion, and everything closer was booked. Parking is right in front of your room, which gives you easy access. The room is larger than it seems and very bright. The shower worked well, but the bathroom is small. There are areas for kids to play and a pit fire, they gave us a kit to make s'mores. It might seem a bit far from town, but if you have a car it doesn't matter. Check in and out were easy and you have a bird feeder outside your window, we saw birds, squirrels, and rabbits. Everyone was very nice. It was cold outside, but heating inside worked perfectly.
