How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Poor communication with hosts. I messaged them through Booking.com to ask which room I was in, but never heard back so I just guessed. Also, the room was a bit warm at night, but there was about an inch of dust on the ceiling fan, so I kept it off.
Terrific location! Easy walk to downtown.

The only downside to me was that the bed was not very comfortable—there is a large gap between the head and the wall leading to lost pillows and it was very noticeable whenever my partner or myself moved around overnight given the subpar mattress. That said, the duvet was very cozy which did help make things feel better. Some amenities also felt a bit run down, but that feels expected from a historic home. For the price/location, I would gladly sleep on the mildly uncomfortable bed again any time.
The location and price were perfect for what we needed. We were able to walk around Wilmington while still staying in a quiet area. Bella's across the street was a helpful addition and let us stock up on some snacks and extra water. In terms of the space itself, it was clean and met all of our needs.

Not the fault of the host, but neighbor was playing loud music and cutting wood (?) for hours..
Precious historic home in a great Wilmington location!! Room was clean and comfy. Hosts were SO accommodating and kind! Neighborhood felt safe and walkable, especially as a solo female traveler. I would highly recommend this rental

Only a few blocks from downtown Wilmington. Very easy to walk to. Historic old house on a historic street! Very cool vibe. Small convenience store across the street. Separate entrance for guests and lit up all hours of the night.

I hadn’t realised that we had a shared bathroom when I booked, but that was my fault I guess . There aren’t any facilities as such just the room and a separate entrance,
The location was good, easy walk to the waterfront and all the restaurants, it was reasonably comfortable and the bed was comfortable.

The bed. The mattress is very old. Bed 3 out of 10. Quite uncomfortable. A new mattress is needed or at least a foam topper should be put o. Top.if bed was comfortable would give it a score of 8.5.
Location wad excellent 10 to 15 min leisurely walk to downtown riverfront and restaurants. Lots of little brewerie within blocks. Free parking on street. Shared bathroom but only with one other room and it was not at all a problem. Staff were helpful and responsive. Cost wad very reasonable for location

The Craft House was a cool place to stay. With this stay, I learned having a private bathroom is very important to me because of availability. It was a great deal, comfortable place, and great location.

The shared bathroom. But it really wasn’t a huge deal, the other person/people were very quiet and respectful to us as we were to them so it worked out fine.
The simplicity, we just needed a room with a comfortable bed for the night.

It did get hot at night even with the fan on.
Everything was very clean, the owners reply to emails pretty quickly.

Our stay at the Craft House was amazing, while we were only there for a night the host was a great communicator and very understanding when we accidentally stayed in the wrong room. It was super easy to check in and the facilities were spotless. We will definitely be staying here again if we find ourselves back in Wilmington!

There’s a door directly next to owners living space , so door be opened on their end if booked again I would give other room a try , owners wife was a bit loud when waking up I guess to announce she’s there but blue room isn’t a pick for me
The comforter was spacious and fluffy
