Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOur only complaint was that the shower is very small and hard to maneuver in, but this would not prevent us from recommending it to friends and family or returning.
We booked the Burbank Rose because of the price and the location. My friend and I wanted only one night during the week so we could spend the day at the beach and go out at night with the ability to walk to everything. It is in the most perfect location. Central to all restaurants, shopping, and Cliff Walk. The room was perfect and very clean. We liked the fact that it had a kitchenette. We liked the option for the continental breakfast. We did not meet the staff, but they reached out to us and left us all the information we needed in an envelope on the office door. Look forward to returning.

United StatesIt was very noisy at night, being in the center, there was a lot of traffic noise. The bed was like "The Princess and the Pea." with my wife and me. The bed bounced every time we slightly moved, I did not get much sleep. The breakfast was a non-event, nothing for me at all. The parking is a 1-mile walk to park for free.
The location is amazing, you can walk in any direction and see the town! The room was very nice and clean. This is a classic B&B. My wife said she would love to live in this house. I thought it was just okay, but I did love the location and overall vibe. Another cool feature is the code to access the room, and the nice welcome letter you receive upon arrival.

United StatesParking is a bit far (but everthing is walkable from the hotel) and if you go to bed early be prepared to hear the music from the bars. Not too loud, and didn't bother my wife or I, but if you are a very light sleeper it might.
Priscilla was checked in on us, and kept the breakfast area stocked, and was super nice! Location is amazing.

United StatesThe continental breakfast was sparse and the bathroom was very very small. My friend and I did not have space to get ready for dinner! A makeup mirror on the counter would have helped tremendously. It also would have been nice to see the innkeeper while we were there. We didn’t see any staff during our stay. The TV was outdated and did not work well. One small thing - no lotion provided in the bathroom.
The room was impeccably clean, the location couldn’t have been better, and the check-in process was easy.

AustriaFrom the moment we arrived the disappointment at The Rose Bank commenced. The property is located on a busy street surrounded by a host of local buildings and the post office, with no garden or green or patio at all. It has a little drive-in area where guests are only allowed to park from maximum 10 minutes while loading or unloading the luggage. We were under the impression that the parking is included in this property, but as we arrived, we found a note saying that due to a change of ownership, the Parking is no longer included for the guests in their stay. It would’ve been very useful if this was noted in the hotel description on booking.com. The door to the property was open to anyone walking by and is never locked. The property is unstaffed, so it’s a complete check-in procedure. We found a leaflet with her name on it and the code for opening a room on the third floor. It’s important to highlight again that the main door to the property is always open the properties unstaffed and there is no code to enter the property so anyone walking past from the street could come in Take screenshots of the codes for the various rooms and come in at any time when the guests are not in their rooms. There is no left on the property and the stairs are extremely steep. Our room had a double bed and a fold out sofa in our living room, as well as a small kitchenette and bathroom. The the design and color of the room about the only plus for this property. As we got up in the morning to make ourselves some tea in the kitchen, you realize there’s no kettle and gas cooker was not working with a note saying that the local fire department does not allow the use of gas on this property. The entire property feels like it’s a show apartment and a money making scheme. Our room cost with tax for the night $800.
The rooms are well decorated and the house which is more an Airbnb rather than anything else is located near the central streets and restaurants of the town.

United StatesWe would give this B&B a 10 except for only one thing: lack of heat. We were placed in a room where the temperature was 61 degrees. After an hour, it warmed up to 67 degrees. We decided that we couldn't stay because of the temperature. The innkeeper then told us we could move to the 3rd floor where the room was warm. We checked it out and it was warm and we decided to stay. In the morning, we went to the breakfast room where the temperature was 61! We were very uncomfortable so brought our coffee and a few nibbles to our room. The hallways were also very cool. The weather was very cold outside and the last thing we wanted was to be in a cold place. (I'm sure, that if we had stayed in the summer, we would have rated with a 10!)
This property is charming in every way. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the rooms are spacious with a lot of amenities. The bed and other furniture is comfortable. The innkeeper, Priscilla, was compassionate and very helpful.

United StatesThe parking is much further away than advertised and it’s a decent walk. The included breakfast is very misleading, as it’s just a common room with some granola bars, old fruit and a coffee machine. This hotel should not be advertising as “breakfast included”.
Great staff and very convenient location. Clean and nice room although a bit small for the price.
