How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The TV in our room needed to be mounted in front of the bed. It was in a cabinet on the side and was unusable.
Quiet and as close as you can get to the parks without staying in them. Connie, the owner, is an amazing woman who has seen it all. She’s even a hang glider pilot. Went out of her way to show us how to make the most of our 2 days at the parks. The breakfast was good with fresh biscuits made that morning. We had fresh peaches for breakfast every morning picked from the tree in her garden. She even let us pick some to take with us when we left. We had breakfast with families and couples from Australia, Korea, Spain, Germany and other Switzerland. A fantastic experience!

We enjoyed our stay very much.
We have enjoyed the stay very much - the best stay experience while touring the parks. Our host Connie was very welcoming and made for us amazing breakfast feast! Watching hummingbirds while learning about the neighbourhood farming and life at the ranch was the highlight of our trip.

Our stay at Branded Calf really exceeded my expectation. The house is neatly decorated, with books, games, tour guides set in the living room. The bedroom is spacious, with large bathroom. Every room is very clean. Connie made wonderful breakfast, coffee, pancakes, biscuit, mixed fruit, everything is totally fresh. The bonus for our stay is to see many humming birds in the yard.

Host Connie and her B&B The Branded Calf is truly unique. You stay together with the host and other guests in the spacious ranch house, with access to the living room and kitchen (there’s even a pool table you’re free to use). Two restaurants are located nearby. Connie serves a delicious breakfast and shares plenty of helpful information about the ranch, the local area, and the nearby parks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Branded Calf.

NOTHING!!!
The location was perfect for the functions we were attending in Dunlap and Miramonte. The room was very comfortable. I would suggest a reading light at the head of the twin bed. Breakfast was exceptional with fresh fruit and biscuits....everything was excellent, and enjoyed chatting with Connie over coffee both mornings.

The area is pretty remote, so there are very few food/grocery options.
The property is a no frills ranch home. It’s just a short drive to the entrance of Sequoia National Park (the Kings Canyon side). The friendly dogs greet you upon arrival, and then Connie greets you at the door. She is wonderful! Her home is classic and nicely decorated. The homemade breakfast was delicious, it exceeded our expectations. The conversation at breakfast every morning was so fun, you’ll meet people from all over the world.

Highly recommend the Branded Calf.
The hostess was amazing. The location was close to the National Parks. Her dogs were excellent companions and her humming bird feeders were humming with activity.

Absolutely nothing.
This was one of the best experiences I've ever had away from home - do not hesitate to book! Connie is so lovely and made us feel right at home, and made an exception tailored breakfast to our plans for the day to help keep us energized. The rooms were extremely clean and the house has so such a homey feel to it. Beyond exceptional service - I would come back just to enjoy the simple ranch life once more. Thanks a ton Connie!

Location is great for those who are searching a place during their trip to Sequoia. Connie is really nice and makes you fell home and she makes a very good breakfast early in the morning with everything fresh. The house is very cozy with and make you feel you are in a farm. We really enjoyed our experience and our kids also had a great time with the dogs outside.

A little far from civilisation (could be an advantage as well)
Very warm hospitality. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable, Great location if wish to travel to Sequoia. Very quiet and peaceful. Connie was so nice and helpful. Will definitely return.
