Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBed was extremely uncomfortable and internet was very slow along with a couple creepy doors in our apartment that were locked from the opposite side.
Decent little apartment for a reasonable price as well as great location. Close enough to enjoy all of the surrounding cities yet far enough to avoid loud night life.

Well located for visits to Newburyport, Salem and Marblehead.. unit was very clean and staff were in contact via text daily to check on needs. Great cafe, train station, liquor store all walkable.

United StatesThere was a god in the room next to us and it’s supposed to be a pet free facility. There were burn marks on the bathroom sink.
It was close to the highway and close to food and gas. An all around win that way.

United StatesWould appreciate some kind of outside space. But otherwise..No bowls for cereal, very few dishes and pots or pans though we did find a small frying pan and pot to boil water. No on site agent to consult with in person and the very nice cleaning staff do not speak English but since I have some HS Spanish we were ok.
The on site staff could not have been more lovely. Despite receiving the access code and room # a few minutes beyond the “guaranteed 4:00pm” arrival time, the agent sending me texts was prompt, responsive, welcoming and friendly with each question I had. The bed could not have been more comfortable, the room itself, an upgrade to a King suite, was cool on an unusually hot July afternoon, quiet, & comfortable enough for one night. Not sure why the place gets such bad reviews especially devastating on Yelp. That said we were fortunate enough to get a room on the first floor right opposite our parked car in their lot. Sounds like the basement rooms are less welcoming.

United StatesIt was located on a busy street but it wasn’t loud. We had some initial trouble with the WiFi and the Hulu live wouldn’t work.
It was clean and a good size for three people. The bathroom was a nice size and laundry facility was great. The sheets and beds were nice as well.

United StatesThere is no office and no one on site to help you. You have to call to get into the apartment and it’s all key pad entry. They send you a text that you are supposed to preregister with your credit card which I did not do until we got there because I didn’t trust that it was legit. I felt it was overpriced for what you get. We had no blanket for the pull out couch and not enough towels or towel for the floor for the shower. Didn’t realize we were supposed to go get them ourselves.
The property was clean. It was very convenient if you are there to do things at Endicott College.

United StatesAlthough there were some misunderstandings via text at the beginning, the staff responded promptly to all my questions and requests. The price is reasonable for the space provided. I was very happy to find an affordable room in Beverly with a full kitchen and easy access to public transportation with a grocery store across the street. The laundry facilities were also excellent.

United StatesI chose the cheapest room on the site and it was a basement room so you get what you pay for. Even though they made an effort, the curtains on the window didn’t close and were kind of broken and the fluorescent light in the kitchen didn’t work etc. There was a bathtub but there was no capacity to block the drain to use the tub.
It was definitely clean and easy to find. It was also easy to access my room. The kitchen was well stocked. They made an effort to make it nice.

United StatesThe mattress on the pull out couch was pretty thin & not comfortable for an adult. Too bad there wasn't a memory foam mattress top or something else to put on it to make more comfortable.
The location was great - close to Salem, Glouster & Marblehead. Stores & restaurants within walking distance & the size of the room/apt for 3 people was perfect!

United StatesThe bathroom showerhead had black mold on it, the tub had some hair as well. The room also had a glade plug-in put in which gave me a horrible headache. I cant do synthetic scents. Once I unplugged it we noticed a basement smell they were trying to cover up. These cons didnt outweigh the price for us. I would still stay again since the other places were so much more expensive. But for others, I can see where it would be a deal breaker.
Super easy check in and out. No staff bothered us during our stay and they were quick to respond. The bed was clean and very comfortable. Loved having a full kitchen to use as well. Only a 10 minute drive to Salem. Rates were cheapest in town compared to other places.

United StatesOnly minor inconvenience was the light switch in the bedroom was unfortunately located on the back wall behind a huge headboard; not easy to find or get to.
Love the large living space with full kitchen and sep bedroom. Made our long weekend stay very comfortable. Location to Salem was very easy. Beds are comfy and all was clean with cleaning service each day. Also nearby amenities such as Starbucks, a diner, and the liquor store were across the street as well as the train line into Boston.
