Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe shower was too small, and the shower head didn't move which made it difficult to shower. Also, I didn't like that there was no door on the shower. The room also had an odor by the entrance, but not in the rest of the room. Some parts of the room were dusty, especially in the bathroom. I also wish the TV was more updated and allowed us to sign into streaming services. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but very beautiful.
Bed was comfortable. I appreciated that the room was cleaned every day without us asking -- hard to come by post-pandemic. Jonathan, one of the doormen, was very accommodating and engaging, making our stay enjoyable. We had a suite so the room was spacious.

United KingdomThe ‘kitchenette’ was tiny, with only a fridge, microwave and wheezy coffee machine. We weren’t planning on cooking, but a toaster and hob ring would have been useful. Also the hot water in bathroom was not very hot and took a long time to just get tepid.
Room was spotlessly clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable - we slept really well despite the noise of the city. Staff were courteous and friendly. The location was good with many local restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel which we booked for the night before and after our wedding. The room was huge for NYC standards and had everything it needed. The staff was friendly and responsive.

LithuaniaWe wanted hotel with some american history hy ourselfs, so there goes some problems with one elevator - on peak hours it is crowded. Also there are taxes for hotel facilites just includenit in to room rate, there is no option not to pay it. Roomkeeping was bad, we got our sheets changed only one time.
Really comfortable beds, welcoming staff in reception, all concierge men were really helpful.

BelgiumExcellent location in Midtown Manhattan, close to everything. Subway lines E and 6 are literally around the corner, making it very easy to get around. Loved the rooms, they were comfortable, well equipped and had that distinctive NYC vibe. Hotel staff was very friendly, attentive and happy to help whenever asked. Definitely recommended for a great stay in the middle of NYC!

SpainOur only complaint was that it was very noisy. The hotel is located on the street parallel to a fire and police station. So on top of the usual car and pedestrian noise expected in downtown NYC there were constant emergency service vehicle noises all night which made it difficult to sleep. The staff were very understanding when I discussed our inability to sleep with them and they moved us from the 10th to 17th floor to try and minimise the noise and it did help somewhat and we got better rest for the remaining nights but just something to consider if you are a light or sensitive sleeper!
We had a great stay at The Benjamin Royal Sonesta. The room was large, perfect for a family of 4 and newly refurbished. The location was very central and close to the subway to travel all over NYC. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.
