Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe hotel took us to another world – back to classic 20th-century New York. Everything was simply perfect: the reception staff, the entire team without exception. Breakfast was high-quality and delicious, and the bar-restaurant was absolutely outstanding. From the elevators to the lobby, every detail was designed authentically and beautifully. The location in Lower Manhattan is excellent, just a few minutes from the Brooklyn Bridge. Highly recommended!

United StatesThe hotel itself was beautiful. We appreciated the antique and historical space with all the modern convenience one would desire. The staff and on site concierge service were top notch. On site restaurants were not only convenient but were very good. The Sunday Jazz brunch was wonderful. Our room was up-graded upon check-in (without asking).

United StatesIf there’s one area that could use a bit of improvement, it would be breakfast. I’m not sure if it was just an off day or if there was some miscommunication, but our entire order came out incorrectly—from my iced latte arriving hot, to receiving scrambled eggs after asking for no eggs at all, and my friend’s meal being the opposite of what she ordered. That said, we didn’t make a fuss and still enjoyed the meal, but a little more attention to detail would go a long way. Even so, it’s not a deal breaker—I’ll absolutely continue dining there during my stays.
I've stayed at The Beekman several times, and it continues to be my favorite hotel in NYC. From the beautifully appointed rooms to the stunning bar and unbeatable location, everything about this place is top-notch. But what truly sets it apart is the staff—always warm, professional, and attentive. Every stay has been exceptional, and this time was no different. Already looking forward to my next visit!

United KingdomThe only thing missing was possibly a few more table lamps in the bedroom.
The Beekman is an excellent hotel located a few minutes walk from city hall and the Brooklyn Bridge. A wonderful hotel that was converted from a 1910 office building. Very impressive architecture throughout the inside, and decorated to a very high standard. All the staff were extremely helpful. Very large bedroom and bathroom with high quality furnishing. No noise from the street or inside the hotel.

United KingdomThere is some noise from the bar area as all the room face out into the atrium. It didn’t bother us at all but it’s worth noting as it may be an issue for some. The hotel do provide a little white noise radio which my son used.
Architecturally beautiful. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Comfortable beds. The bar area is exceptional with great atmosphere and excellent cocktails. 5 mins walk from Brooklyn Bridge. 39 mins walk from SoHo and. Subway very close to hotel.

United StatesI had a beautiful stay at The Beekman, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning decor, elegant furniture, and thoughtfully curated paintings that give the space such character and charm. Temple Court was an absolute highlight—we enjoyed both a leisurely lunch and late-night drinks there. The food and cocktails were nothing short of spectacular, with impeccable presentation and flavor. We also had a photoshoot during our stay. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our visit. Our room was spotless, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne in celebration of our anniversary—such a thoughtful gesture. Nighttime service added a lovely touch, leaving the room tidy with fresh water bottles and Valerian extract chocolates. My fiancé and I had a truly magical experience and are already planning to make this an annual tradition. Highly recommend!
