Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesGreat hotel, the restaurant is delicious and they give you a guest discount. Thanks! The outdoor sitting area was really nice, and the ice/tea/water lounge that was free to use on every floor was a nice perk. The room was nice and clean, plain. The windows were then, I did hear some noise on arrival and was worried but then the nights I was there were quiet. I weekend might be louder, but they did have ear plugs on the desk. Guess they know. The bathroom was nice and big, the room was a good size and had a desk. It had a portable AC with the hose out the window, which is why you couldn't close the window completely to keep more noise out. Luckily not a lot of bugs in the area, at least in summer. Easy walk to gaslamp. Cool look if you like historical looking buildings, which I do.

United StatesThe rooms need more chairs or shelves were guests can put their own belongings.
The hotel is super nice, clean, comfy and you can easily tell that it is newly renovated . Attention to detail in the style is great! Location to explore the Gaslamp quarter is amazing!

United StatesGreat location and the hotel is very charming and hip. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful - they do a great job with check-in - plus, they gave me a $25 voucher for anything food/beverage during my stay - that is remarkable. I felt very safe here as well. I would absolutely stay here again.

United StatesThe room was really small. It worked out that we basically were only there for sleep. Also, there were no elevators so the staff had to bring our luggage upstairs for us.
The check-in and bar staff were very efficient and friendly.

United StatesThe biggest con is the fact that I had to pay for parking Which was roughly almost close to 50 dollars for me to store my car in the parking garage. I also do not like the fact that it does not have a mini fridge or a microwave in the room which I think is the central especially when you're someone who is traveling. I need a place to keep my leftovers and reheat it as well. My room was beautiful but it sure was small LOL
It was absolutely beautiful! I love the fact that it wasn't down town San Diego which was close to multiple restaurants, bars and entertainment. The staff was absolutely kind to me. Both time staff carried my luggage to my room and to the door. I love the fact that there is Starbucks coffee on site for free and cold water so I could refilled my Hydro Flask

KenyaThe team at Beau is delightful. I enjoyed the free tea/ coffee station and the delicious meals at the restaurant/bar. I loved my room, too, especially the comfy bed. I also love their cutlery choice, very up to the theme: vintage and classy. The hotel is a beautiful time capsule.

United StatesThey do not have hotel parking you have to park in a parking structure about a half a block away.
The Beau is a charming hotel in a restored 1880’s building. The rooms are a nice size and very nicely decorated. There is complementary brewed Starbucks coffee in a small alcove on the second floor that leads to a cute little patio. The Beau is centrally located within walking distance of great restaurants in Little Italy.

PeruThe hotel is fairly new, I think they still to up their game in terms of room amenities and some details. Three is no elevator, only stairs, so take that into consideration. The bathroom had not shower cap, no hand soap. The airconditioning unit on the window made constant noise. The room had no closet but a hanging rod and there were only 2 small drawer at the night stands. When we arrived we requested extra hangers since there was not many options to store clothes and it was a mirafcle that we got them, we did not get as many as we need but we made do. I think if you don´t have drawers you need to have enough hangers to allow guests to propoerly store clothes. I for one don´t like to leave my clothes in the suitcase.
We liked the location and the vibe of the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpfull. we like the tea and coffee station available 24 hours

United StatesThere was no place to sit down in the room. Would have been more comfortable if the room had a chair or two. Also, there was not counter space in the bathroom so no place to put toiletries.
Hotel was especially inviting and staff were very helpful. Location was close to some very good restaurants with walking distance.

United StatesThe room is small and did not have a small table or chair. This made it difficult to use a laptop or phone if one of us got up early. There was some street noise.
The location is excellent - walking distance to the lively Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park. The bus stop and the trolley stop are located conveniently close by. There is free coffee available 24/7! The staff is extremely courteous.
