The wooden construction of the bed support was bigger that the mattras, so it we bumped it often. As the room is quite small, the is not much space between the wall and the bed. Breakfast could have been better.

I found the rooms to be pretty sterile -- no carpet on the concrete floors as shown in the photos. The desk was only sometimes staffed. Overall, the place has more of a hostel feel -- though that's not what the price is like!

Great location though on a strange warehouse filled block of the neighborhood. Easy walk to the train and to the nearby spots. This aspect was perfect for my needs.

No towels or wash clothes, broken shower handle, 3 remotes to work the tv is too many, nighttime staff very loud and disruptive to guests trying to sleep. It was too much money for this facility and the location. Free breakfast wasn't consistent

It was simple and clean. The daytime staff (Deanna) was the reason you get high scores

I was not aware there would be cleaning services so we came back to our room all cleaned up. They did a great job but normally I would opt out of this service (there wasn't a DND hanger or anything so I presumed it wasn't a service offered). The breakfast situation is good and free but it could be much better with a couple small adjustments to make it a better/smoother experience when there are many people down there (bigger plates, pre-cut bagels or a real knife, quicker toaster - or more toasters, a table to eat at vs just the couch, etc.). Our rooms had a stand alone AC unit connected through the window (there was an HVAC control panel on the wall so presuming it was just broken in our room). This was fine for us, especially since they acommodated an early check-in and we only slept in the room, but we would have requested a different room if we arrived at the normal check-in time. I would stay here again for the price point.

The staff were awesome! Friendly, helpful, and acommodating. The communication before and during our stay was great (texting, prompt responses on Booking.com, a real person answered the phone when I called). The front desk is staffed 24/7. They offer baggage hold. The free bagels and coffee in the morning were lovely. The location is convenient. The room was clean.

The bathroom shower didn’t have a door so the floor would just get wet while you showered, the TV remote did not have a back to it, so the batteries were exposed, which I found to be very ghetto 😅

I like that the property was on a very quiet street compared to others, and I also like how clean the room was.

The location was OK. The description implies that it is near restaurants and other stores, but it is not. When I arrived, the front desk staff person could not be more rude. She glared at me as if daring me to ask to check in. She clearly hates the job and doesn't give a hoot about providing basic customer service. This is sort of typical of low-paid employees throughout NYC, so it's no surprise, but still not pleasant to deal with. My television did not work, I could not get the room to heat up (wall thermostat didn't seem to work.) The front desk attendant leaves at 11pm, so I could't do anything about this. My bathroom sink was not in the bathroom, it was near the bed. There were no options to switch on the sconce lighting, so I had to put up with bright lights or no lights at all. The mattress was sitting on a huge wooden platform that you can stub your toes on if you're not too careful. Also, the mattress size was definitely a full, not a queen. The only trash can in the room was a tiny one next to the toilet so I had to walk back into the bathroom to throw anything away. The towels were extremely small as if they were intended for babies. The floor in the room is actually concrete, but I suppose that's why it's "pet friendly." I checked out before the continental breakfast was served, so I don't know what that was like. The front desk person who checked me out was even worse than the one who checked me in. She was like a DMV employee with the worst attitude and control freak energy which made me feel like I had just stayed overnight in a government-run hotel. The only good thing about this place is that I tried to cancel via Booking because I thought I found a different place to stay, but Baltic kept my reservation! Whew.

    I liked the last-minute availability.

I had some issues with my room. The sink did not drain well, and there was no closet or hangers-just a bar on the wall for clothes. The ac/fan also did not work and I had to open the window to feel comfortable in the room. Breakfast was very sugary, and coffee was not very tasty—ended up going to a cafe.

Staff was friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of,and provided excellent service. Because of them, I had a good stay at the hotel.
