Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryIt is pretty close to the city, yes, but it is in New Jersey. In New York you can ride unlimited with the 7day pass however Jersey is not covered in that zone. So keep in mind that you have to pay at least 7,5$ to get to New York and back everyday.
The motel is good, the noise was not too bad even though it is next to a busy highway. The staff were nice and helpful, the bed was comfy and big. We really appreciated the fridge in the room. The bus to New York is convenient, the ride back is a little tricky because the bus station is huge. The motel is pretty close to the city and doesn’t take more to get to Times Square than if you were in Brooklyn.

IsraelWe wanted to book a place that is relatively close to Manhattan and not to expensive. We planned on coming in the morning, just to part and go to the city and come back late, so we had no expectations and we read reviews about the place so we new that breakfast is very basic. However, this place exceeded our expectations, it started with the fact that we arrived at 10:30AM and although we just needed to checking to leave the car, they gave us the room, so that was great. The next day they let us park late than 3PM so we could be in the city until 5. And the place was super convenient to get to and from the city, public bus 200m from the hotel and kids go on for free.

CanadaRun by Indian family. All staff was Indian. Breakfast is very mediocre - just toast with tea / coffee, no fruits like banana, apple, no eggs or some kind of sausages. I wouldn't dare to call it breakfast. But nevertheless similar "hotels" would cost you 300-500 USD on Manhattan side without any sorts of breakfast or parking. So considering all the alternatives- it was a good option. And much better than "Ramada by Wyndham North Bergen" - which is still under construction and half of the facilities close.
It had parking. They provide you toasts and coffee/tea. They clean your room and change towels. Location was right over Lincoln tunnel, 5 min away from bus which takes you to Port Authority which is almost the middle of Manhattan. Bus costs 4$ though one way for 1 person.

TurkeyPayment system is confusing, they blocked the amount from your credit card once you check-in. Then they withdraw the amount for your stay from your credit card. But they didn't immediately release the blocked amount. It takes more than 10 days to release it. This has to be change. Secondly, it is said light breakfast included to the price but when you see light breakfast means only free granola bar it was disappointing. It was never nice to make fun of our minds by playing word games.
Clean room, comfortable bed.

United StatesThe parking lot was small and basically had to pull up onto a curb to get into it. It may be a bath tube but they have it blocked. The water was barely warm. There was hair all in the towels.
The bed was comfortable but other than that nothing else to like about it. But you get what you pay for.

United StatesThe only drawback was the sparse breakfast. The coffee was good but the food options were disappointing. The rooms provide a fridge and microwave so a trip to the nearby Aldi solved that problem. M & J Hot Bagel and Deli is five minutes away and worth the trip.
The room was very clean and all basic supplies were provided. Everyone we encountered from the staff was very friendly and helpful. The best feature for us was the shuttle to Time Square, which is easy and inexpensive.

United StatesBreakfast was literally just toast , granola bar and juice. Also the property is in a bad location. Parking was tight because parking lots was very small. The toilet in the bathroom was very low and very very loud when flushed.
Rooms were clean and staff was very nice. They have shuttle busses to take you to the city. Which only cost $3.00 a person one way. You can also be brought back to the hotel as well with additional charge.

United KingdomPoor choice for continental breakfast just bread, butter and cereal bar. On one occasion there was no butter, apparently did not arrive, people were left with bread only. With continental breakfast you would expect at least butter and jam. I would appreciate a chairs in a breakfast area even high bar chairs. Regarding a bathroom, toilet flush worked very loudly. Be prepared to be waken up at night even when people next door are using it. We did not wish to have our towels change every day so we follow advice provided, so we could reuse them, however they were still replaced. Too much air fresheners used in corridors as well as rooms after cleaning.
We liked a microwave in the room as well as specious fridge so we could store food to complement our breakfast. Tea, coffee, hot water available from breakfast area 24/7 which was very convenient. Rooms were clean, radiator worked well. Shuttle bus was very convenient, however each day we paid different price. Room deposit returned within a week after check out.
