Older building that needs a complete rehaul! Outside carpeting had mold on it, outside if building was full of bugs/spiders, inside carpeting felt damp & rooms are stagnant bc there is NO circulation in the rooms. You can tell where things had been removed &/or fell off the walls bc nothing was patched/fixed afterwards, screen door from room to balcony kept coming off the tracks. Didnt make it to the pool so no comment. Glad we only stayed one night otherwise... we will not be back

When I got there my room was not ready. The lady at the desk said I'm going to upgrade you and you can get in a room now, it was 4:00 check in time. We were upgraded to a King room with a jacuzzi. The room had fresh towels but it had not been cleaned in a while. There were cobwebs all over, sand on the floor and in our bed. I did some cleaning myself because I knew they only had one housekeeper. I did not use the jacuzzi because I am somewhat handicapped and cannot get in and out of it. There was a table and chairs but the chairs were very uncomfortable. I had to clean everything out on the balcony before we could enjoy it. Only one bedside light worked. The room had no carpet so we always had to have something on our feet. The patio doors were filthy that you could barely see through the glass. I tried to clean it but it was in between panes. There's really no place to hang anything regarding towels. We just hung them over the shower curtain. Not enough storage as we had to put our empty luggage containers on the floor. There were spiders all over the place and we got them all killed! There were many cobwebs above the curtain that went to our patio. And to top everything off we were supposed to have a continental breakfast. This was going to save us money. The breakfast consisted of a very small oatmeal bar and coffee or juice. The orange juice was thick and brownish looking the first day. I told the lady about it. The next day same thing so we did not get that stuff anymore. They said we could go to a place where it was buy one get one breakfast. We did go there and it was buy one get one, our bill was still $26 for breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel many many years since I was a young girl and I will not be staying there again! They don't have enough help and it is very run down. We couldn't even hardly get any stations on the television!

I love Mackinaw! I liked the bed as it was comfortable and I enjoyed the balcony even though it was filthy but I cleaned it! I liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Our bedding and towels felt clean.

There was no breakfast, even though it said breakfast included. Hot water, tea bags and coffee was available on a small table next to checkin counter. and they offered granola bar for breakfast. That's all there is for breakfast. It's deceiving to call it breakfast included. At least I would have planned ahead if I knew.

Beach Access was easy. Lounge chairs are avalable by the beach. It was not crowded on a Sunday.

Carpeting was horrendous. Air conditioner vents were dirty. A previous guests pop bottle and dirt behind nightstand where we needed to plug our phone chargers.

The pool was very sandy all the days of our stay. We had problems getting the bathroom to drain, toilet and shower. Breakfast was one granola bar per person and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

The view was amazing. The moon rise was spectacular. Fire pits were available for guest use. The beds and pillows were comfortable.

Amazing location right on the lake with Sandy beach. Bon fire pits were a nice touch but didn’t see anything about needing to bring our own wood- wish that had been clearer. Also great view for fireworks over the lake on Saturday night. The rooms were okay, what you’d expect for super 8 motel- not filthy but not nice either. Fire alarm was hanging down in the room and some of the electric outlets didn’t work so I unplugged the mini fridge to charge my phone. TV didn’t work properly - only responded to the remote occasionally. No microwave in the room, I think this was due to broken outlets. But no bugs or dirtiness, if you’re planning to be on the beach or downtown all day and just need a place to sleep this will do. If you’re looking to spend more time in the room I’d like elsewhere

They have some type of air freshener and it was affecting my allergies, lungs. I believe it was some type of essential oil. Not sure what they're trying to cover up. Room was small. They need to invest in upgrades. The building is older.

Used bar of soap in shower when we arrived. Lamps either didn’t work or had repaired electrical cords. Water ran in onto of the air unit when it rained. The room needed a good deep clean really bad…carpet around beds, dirt in corners, bathroom light fixture full of dust balls. Parking lot and walkways had trash laying about.

The location was great! Close to the docks, shopping, restaurants and it is in the water.

the pool and hot tub area was a little old and dingy, not the clean. the bathroom in the room old and nasty. the rest of the room was decently cleaned minus the floors that made the towels black in dirt. towels smell dingy

the beach bonfire pits are awesome & the firework barge for the saturday fireworks all summer was RIGHT infront of the beach so it was the perfect location for this. no bed bugs bedding and pillows decently clean
