The food and drinks machines could accept card, but this was not a big deal. There were some grocery stores around but it would be so much easier if was able to buy things in this hostel with my card

I thought it was a modern hostel. Everything was clean all the time and they are so welcoming all the time. I had a wonderful experience during my staying there.

I think it needs to be a little more clean, since they have people on and off all the time, cleaning it could be hard and sometimes impossible, but it need la to be clean specially the bathroom

As 2 women we would have needed more hanging options for clothes and/or bigger wardrobe. 😁

We loved the ambiance. Well structured. The kitchen has everything you need for meal prep. The owner is strict with rules (👍), always busy doing something, but if anything is needed, you can always address him or one of the employees on duty (very nice persons). 1½min on the other side of the street, there is "albertsons" market. With a little bit of patience you find parking lots. If we come back to sd, we would definitely come back to this hostel.

The only "bad" thing is that it is a bit far. As a woman going alone, walking back at night is kind of scary, but that is not the hotels fault. Maybe they could send a petition to San Diego to add some of those bikes or scooters close to the hotel, more bus routes, some other options to move around. However, as it is a bit far of the craziness, you can't hear any street sounds at all. The other "bad" thing is that both guys next to my assigned bed snored a lot, but the hotel provides earplugs! Maybe it would be good to have the option to switch if you can't really deal with other people's snores. These are just two silly things that didn't really affect my stay, tho, just suggestions or things to keep in mind.

I have been going to Comic Con since 2019 and this one was my best stay so far. The beds are comfy, you can store your stuff under your bed with the included lock, there is a super nice common area that is always playing movies and the kitchen is great as well. You can get a new clean towel everyday and the best part is the restrooms. Every time I took a shower it seemed like it was just cleaned for me. Totally amazing. I am always cold and freeze while I sleep, and they let me have extra blankets. Really appreciate it. I forgot to add that the women's bathroom area (maybe the men's too, but I didn't check haha) has a whole lot of hair dryers and tools to do your hair, plus cotton balls, swabs and mirrors with lots of lights! Now I know that next time I am not gonna need to carry my hair dryer! I was very impressed by that little area. In front of those cool mirrors they have a set of two washers and dryers, something I don't recall seeing in the other hostels I stayed, it is something very useful.

Not their fault but my room has a lot of snoring people and I had a difficult time sleeping and staying asleep with the noise. It can be remedied by being earplugs.

It was great to have a kitchen, but it was small, so it felt like you couldn’t be more than one to two people at the same time. Also people are not good at cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen, that is guests faults though.. The curtains in front of the bed made the air a little bad during the night, we left a gap and that helped a bit. They have aircon! The bathroom sink (especially in girls bathroom) was terrible to brush teeth with, water splashing everywhere, and hard to do it with the sensor. It was also just one working most of the time, and only one soap working. In other bathroom it was a bit better but still difficult. Not much happening in the hostel, they installed a projector so the were playing movies while we stayed, maybe they will have that a bit more organised eventually which would be a great addition! Location is great if downtown is your thing, that comes with homeless and dirty streets. It is just 5 min away from public transport.

Liked the privacy of staying in a hostel but still having the whole bed to ourselves! The common areas was good place to hang out and eat! The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is in downtown, and right next to a store which is convenient! The water machine thing in the kitchen was amazing, cold or warm water all the time, we loved it! Also loved the coffee, tea and hot chocolate that was always available!

The area is pretty rough and there is clearly quite a bad drug problem in the area, but no one caused me any trouble Probably looks worse than it is, and San Diego seems pretty safe despite these problems.

Surprisingly quiet considering the layout, because everyone's bed is curtained off, you dont get people chatting and hanging around in the sleeping areas, so other than the occasional suitcase rolling past, it's nice n quiet all night. Beds are very comfortable - not stupidly soft, but not paper thin either, just right. Bed and sheets super clean, and bathroom/showers kept very clean. If you just want a comfy bed, with some degree of privacy and a quiet night, this is the perfect compromise between a hostel and a cheap hotel.
