How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Outside needs some TLC . Paint etc
The room was very quiet .. very nice bed and pillows .. large tv with a fire stick so you can watch Netflix etc . Good water pressure in shower

The price of everything now days is so high. But that's not this locations fault, but we feel the pinch nevertheless. Please consider adding a few high protein bars into the complimentary breakfast and some water too.
The check-in clerk was super friendly and helpful. He made the entire experience better than expected. The location is an "old school" motor inn property that's been nicely updated. Very clean and neat. Very close to Stanford Medical Center without the ridiculous pricing. We would stay again.

Needs to be updated. Offer USB plugs so we can charge devices. Carpets need to be torn out because they carry a lot of old smell and dirt.

Had a few spiders. It had a musty scent and the air conditioner was extremely loud. Hard to sleep.
It was easy to find. Hosts were very friendly.

The exterior paint needs freshening, the outdoor grounds are mostly the parking lot and a mural, and the rooms are dated. There is no restaurant (although there is free breakfast at an outdoor seating area outside the motel office) or room service, but this is as expected for a drive up motel. For us, these things were minor negatives considering the warm welcome, the convenience of having the kitchen, and the reasonable pricing which made this trip possible.
This motel is an affordable option to stay in a convenient location in Palo Alto CA. It is within walking distance of the California Ave business district and very easy bike or Uber distance to many Stanford and Palo Alto locations. A nice surprise (not all the rooms have this) is that our 2 double bed room had a full kitchenette with a more sizeable than usual mini refrigerator, an actual oven, and many kitchen supplies. Parking and wifi were free, as were bottled water, coffee and tea in the motel office during business hours. We had everything we needed. Staff were responsive and friendly, and both in the reservations process and onsite, delivered personalized and kind service. We were traveling with an elderly person and the ground level motel access was extremely helpful. We never tried the breakfast so I can't comment on that. The value here is unbeatable in Palo Alto. Palo Alto has plenty of eateries not far away.

Could have used more electrical.plugs.
Staff were so helpful. Loved having a full kitchen (these are legacy and not oresent in every room) and a much bigger than usual fridge. The staff went out of their way to p4ovide ehat we needed. Bottled water was provided at the office. While the property was dated and the exterior.needs a coat of paimt, thr value was incredible.and we had wverything qe needed. Very comfortable!!

Not as clean as it should be, no wash rags in room. Kitchen wasn’t very clean. Obvious signs of needing repairs. Dirty floors (carpet and bathroom).
