How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There is almost no sound isolastion. Can hear all the noises outside and thtough the walls.

No air conditioning. The windows had locks. I wish they had adjustable locks so I could leave the windows partially open to cooler night air.

This is just a regular motel. There are better options in the area but price was an issue for us and this is why we decided to stay here.

We couldn’t control the temperature in the room. It was too warm. Also a few yellow light bulbs would be good. White lights make it look cheap.
The staff is very attentive. Rooms are larger and neater than other similar hotels’ rooms. They even have hairdryer.

The room and the bathroom was kind of old, not sure if the owners can remodel it and keep the value for visitors, but it would be nice.
Manager and attendant were great. We left a day early to avoid snow storm and traffic, and he gave us refund for one night. It was way too hot the first night, even after we turned the heater off. The next day we found another heater on another side of the room. But this is one of those "luxury problems". Wi-Fi and cable services were excellent.

Furnishings is pretty typical for a Travel Inn, so don't expect too much, but it was satisfactory to our needs. The shower water pressure could've been a little stronger. A problem that we had in our unit was that they left the heater on at full blast when we got in, and that heat persisted for so long through the night. I completely turned off the heater and turned a fan, and I couldn't get comfortable until about 2am. YMMV on this, and I think this was a case of the previous person leaving the heater to max, but I thought I'd mention it.
The room and facilities were adequate, there was no problem with space for the 2 of us and our luggage and snow gear. They had a coffee machine and some packets in the room which is always nice to have. Location is only about a mile away from Heavenly Village, and there's also a decent amount of restaurants and cafes nearby that are walking distance.

Everything was great.
I had a surprisingly pleasant stay at the Travel Inn, South Lake Tahoe. The room was very clean, without broken cabinets, and it had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, heater, electric fan, extra warm blanket, and an ironing board. It exceeded my expectations especially for the price.

The bathroom window, which serves as the vent, was difficult for me to figure out how to open. Proprietor would have gladly helped, but I didn't ask him.
Proprietor was friendly, helpful and gave off a good vibe. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable.

Really like that second mirror above the coffee service (didn’t have A second mirror)!! And missed the table. Also missed the private toilet/shower area, and two sinks. But for a last minute reservation, it was fine, appreciated the refrigerator and microwave.

Did not like the cleanliness of the tile shower!! Needs to be cleaned. Felt like there was no privacy with the windows open and multiple fans blowing air in from outside. Did not like "no air conditioning unit" 3pm-6pm you cannot be in the room as it's too hot with a box fan in the window.
Loved the location. Very close, walking distance to many great locations.

Advertised as close to Lake Tahoe, its a fair distance to walk to get to the Lake.
This accommodation was adequate for our requirements. The rooms are clean and have portable AC. Good value for money and close to some restaurants, but a drive away from main hub area of Lake Tahoe.
