Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe rooms are small, as to be expected in NYC, but laid out to maximize the small space. All staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was fun. Great coffee available in the lobby in the mornings was a plus.

United KingdomVery small, dated bathroom. Too small for 4 people to use comfortably. Musty smell in the room. Bedsit type curtain on window. Lack of water /coffee making facilities in room. No breakfast facilities. Bedsheets had some holes in. Pillows/sheets smelt musty. Towels won't stay on hooks in bathroom so fall on floor. Very expensive for what is was. Additional taxes added to bill. Exterior and lobby impressive but didn't follow through to our room.
Good location. Right next to Little Italy and easy to travel to. Modern and funky lobby/reception area. Teas/coffees available in lobby/reception for a few hours in the morning (to make up for lack of room and breakfast facilities). Large comfy beds. High speed internet (extra charge). Restaurant recommendations were good.

CanadaCheck in is located on the second floor which is slightly confusing, hardly a big concern but it's the only one I had.
Pretty hotel in the heart of soho. Short walk to literally everything in lower Manhattan. Staff were kind, offered an upgrade and when I passed provided a small one anyway. Informative, generous people in a lovely building.

SpainWhile we didn’t mind the lack of elevator, it is something to be aware of. The price isn’t really a bargain, but it is certainly more affordable than other options and worth it if you want to stay in the Nolita neighborhood.
Wonderful location near Little Italy and the Bowery subway stop. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom had been updated and there was a safe in the room. They don’t have a hot breakfast available, but they do have a pot of fresh coffee in the morning which you can help yourself to on the way out.

CanadaIt’s a boutique hotel so there aren’t the facilities that a bigger hotel would have (gym, breakfast etc) but that didn’t matter to us because there’s so much to do in NYC. It’s an older building so there’s some general maintenance needed (e.g. bathtub was damaged, scratches on walls etc) but again that didn’t impact our stay.
Location was great, right between several subway stations and close to incredible cafes, bars and restaurants. Free luggage storage before and after check in was very helpful. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Was worried our room would be small for 5 adults but we had plenty of space to store our luggage and clothes.

AustraliaFirstly, check-in is at 4pm (they will let you in early for $57). This is too late. There’s a fun rule where you have to request for your room to be made up in the morning in person. The desk people respond to comment on this unreasonable requirement with blank faces. By far the biggest issue is that there is no lift… let that sink in. The entry is one floor below the check-in desk and while there is a porter to carry your bags up, the service is not offered to persons unable to climb the steep stairs (do not book this place if you have any issue climbing lots of stairs). The porter doesn’t turn up until 9am so checking out before 9am is a serious problem. If you plan to stay here make sure to travel light! The staff were generally unhelpful and it was difficult to follow the rules - all concerns were met with blank faces and immovable rules and regulations.
The hotel looks great with boutique styling in the public areas and rooms with exposed brick etc. the rooms are comfortable.

Location was amazing, walking distance to Little Italy, Lower East, 2 blocks to subway. Aesthetic was great and had a lot of character. Please was so clean. Complimentary coffee and tea was nice, as well as computer and charging in communal area. Felt very safe and staff were always on site. Kind staff that let us keep our bag in check so we could explore on our last day.
