Booked the traditional king room with balcony. It was lovely & peaceful watching the activities on the river. (Bring binoculars if you enjoy looking for birds.) Access to Windsor Castle Park, a lovely park with trails, play areas, and historic buildings, is right across the street. Room was nicely appointed with a roomy bathroom and wonderful shower. Bed was especially comfortable--and the pillows were great! Breakfast was hearty with lots of offerings including real eggs and delicious bacon. Friendly staff & easy check in. Note there is no elevator.

This place is a hidden gem. It was the perfect location. It was tranquil. The view and scenery were beautiful. Staff was friendly, restaurant was very good and the pool was perfect.

The only negative I can think of is the parking. Due to the restaurant's popularity, parking is limited. Add to the fact they are doing road construction on the bridge by the location, and we were there during a holiday it was challenging to find a parking space on the last night. Very minor irritation for such a wonderful place.

The location was perfect. Within an hour to Williamsburg, New Port News, Norfolk, Jamestown, and York Town. Relaxed, laid back atmosphere. Perfect for people who like to go and do but be off the beaten path. We stayed for the fireworks and I must say it was amazing. The locals came via boat, car, and foot. Live music, exceptional restaurant (we ate there all 3 nights), not disappointed with anything ordered. If you stay definitely get the water view, worth the price.

Paid extra for the jetted tub. It didn't work

Very clean and comfortable. Staff were great. Loved the restaurant. The only issue is that we booked the jetted tub room, for an extra fee, and The tub didn't work.

Our only drawback was a noisy bath fan.

We were passing through on our way to OBX and found this little gem of a place. It's off the beaten path but you won't be disappointed with being on the water surrounded by yachts and fishing boats docked in the marina. Many of which have seafarers living on board private vessels. Sunday brunch was exceptional where you can get fresh fixings made to order prepared before your eyes. Our room was above the restaurant and it seemed odd at first to go passed the restaurant hostess but it was also nostalgic in an old West kind of way. This would be a great 3 day getaway with enough amenities to suffice. We will keep the Smithfield Station Hotel in mind for future travels.

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable- very soft mattress with some lumpiness. I ended up sleeping on the floor on a blanket (I have back problems so I may have been overly affected by the soft mattress).

Very pretty room, very clean, great location, beautiful view from the balcony. We enjoyed the footbridge and walk in the wooded park not far from the hotel. Very nice staff at the hotel and at the restaurant. We hope to come back sometime.

Our rooms were located in the older part of the hotel on the second floor above the restaurant. It was not written in bold letters that there was no elevator and my mother who is 87 had struggled with the steps. We didn't ask for another room but thought it should have been stated more clearly. The beds are too high for shorter folks and people with mobility issues.

The location of the hotel on the marina is very nice. The restaurant is great, especially when you can sit outside on their deck. The rooms were very clean and well appointed.

The room had a bad, moldy smell. The moisture in our room and on the carpet was unacceptable. We stayed during a rainy weekend however I recommend the hotel replace the carpet with another type of floor that handles humidity/moisture and check the ventilation/HVAC system in the rooms. Also, the door to the deck did not lock. We contacted the front desk and they moved us to another room where we had the same challenge with the door on the deck. The front desk mentioned the door had a hurricane lock. The instructions and disclosure at check in were poor. We ended up moving the end chair next to the door for security at night.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. There was road construction during our stay however the parking was free. The view of the water was calm and the hotel is within walking distance to Main Street.

The room had a very moldy smell. Enough so that it gave us a headache. We left early. The restaurant was very disappointing. For an event, you'd think they'd clean the windows. There's nothing like eating dinner looking through dirty windows. The drinks were good. At 4:30 pm, they had "run out of" Reubens. The fried flounder was mushy. The crab cake was good.

Your advertising told us we were reserving a room with a balcony which has a WATER VIEW of the FIREWORKS for that night!! Instead we were put in a room that was on the side that could NOT see any of the FIREWORKS! This is DECEPTIVE advertising and just takes advantage of people! Not caring at all about telling the TRUTH!
